Trophy wives would didn't have or didn't want to work would pair up with a square for financial stability, especially since women were still blocked out from good jobs in the 80s. It wasn't uncommon for them to get some strange on the side, hence why she was about to meet up with Billy last season.

These arrangements still happen nowadays, but less so. It's why you see alot of angry incels in current times. No societal welfare like their daddies and granddaddies had that would afford them a guaranteed house, job, and wife, by blocking out competition. Can't leverage a paycheck to lock down an Insta baddy today when she can just go into the officeplace or hop on OnlyFans.

Nah bruh they been planting those seeds with him since at least last season. Early in season 3 whenever the others mentioned girls he gets visibly upset and tries to guilt them into playing Dungeons and Dragons.
