They built up Vecna too high and they can't let him catch back to back Ls.
They foreshadowed it in previous seasons, but this shyt broke my heart.

They explained that music can access certain parts of the brain that could circumvent Vecna's power when he trapped you in an illusion. His Dad heard the radio playing when Vecna tried to kill him which is how his Dad survived. That was why Vecna ended up in a coma.
Music is powerful, breh. There's been real life medical cases where music was used to keep patients stable/calm during surgery because anesthesia couldn't be used.
