I should've just shut my mouth and kept watching. That's my problem. I always pause and look up the answers because I like to be right before just watching and finding out

My bad breh. Something told me to label my post as finale spoilers but I assumed you already finished watching but how missed the scene.

So what is 001/Vecna's motive? Why is he killing those kids of his beef is strictly with El?

Since being banished to the shadow realm he's been looking for a way to become more powerful and open portals to the normal world in order to come back and shape it in the way he wants the earth to be. he hates the status quo of the planet and the "rules" it has. Every person he kills he gains more power and leaves a portal.

I'm enjoying it but I started ff thru the Eleven and Mike/Will scenes:manny:
I guess its Its cool that NF gave the Duffer Bros the budget and let them go wild
I think the Mike/Will/Jonathan scenes would be less interesting if not for Argyle that nikka is actually hilarious:mjlol:

But yea i don't care about the Eleven scenes at all

Will, Mike, and Joanathan definitely having nothing to do this season :heh:

I'm not mad either because they're all semi-annoying characters to me anyways. Mike is always complaining. The show left Will with nothing to do a long, long time ago. And Jonathan is pretty decent, but IMO he's a watered down version of Steve, and without him having a goal to save Will then he just doesn't have much to do. And I've never thought that Jonathan and Nancy ever had any chemistry. It's super obvious that Nancy and Steve are the ones with real chemistry together, and I like that the show is setting them up to get back together. Jonathan was always punching above his weight class with Nancy.
The part about chemistry is hilarious because Nancy and Jonathan actors are a couple in real life:russ:

And Mike def ain't had shyt to do since season one

i'ma prolly have to rewatch the last two eps. i need to better understand how the nikka from the 50's is the same as 01 cuz the ages just dont match up to me, but i may just not have been paying proper attention due to be preoccupied
Those flashbacks ain't from the 50s. They're from 79. Season 4 takes place in 86

:gladbron: for real? :heh: I'd never have guessed Nancy and Jonathan were together in real life. I'd assume she was with Steve if anyone from the show.

I definitely like this season more than season 3. Season 3 was kind of a goof ball silly season IMO. I enjoyed it, because I always have fun with this show. But season 4 feels like they took it more to its roots, and even made it darker. Lots of homages and nods to lots of classic horror joints. Elm Street, Hellraiser, Carrie, The Thing...lots of little moments where I caught little head nods. The gang even feels like the Dream Warriors.

There are definitely a few moments that feel a little bloated from all the extra runtime, but for the most part I like what they did. The Duffer Bros are definitely ready for a big feature film. This season feels like a few big movies but just released on Netflix. Netflix definitely needed a W here, and they got one. It seems like the critical response to this season here is positive too.

Looking forward to the final four hours in four weeks.

Just finished it. BIG step up from season three. I appreciate that there was less goofy shyt and "nostalgia bait" and more of an attempt to refocus on the mystery and horror elements.

That being said, this show needed to cull some of its cast a long time ago; instead, they keep adding more characters to an already bloated ensemble. Everything I enjoyed about this season was weighed down by the filler that was there just to justify screen-time for certain fan-favorites. They could've kept ALLLL of that russian plotline and I honestly can't remember anything that happened with Mike/Will/Jonathan besides the shootout. I actually enjoyed the nina project scenes and the twist at the end. I had been wondering in the back of my mind all season why there was such a focus on how humanlike and distinctively blue Vecna's eyes are.

Looking forward to part two but, given the pacing and filler, I don't know if I can see myself rewatching part one

At this point I'm giving them a little bit of leeway because I don't think they planned for the show to end up this big. They keep having to come up with new villains that make sense and I think they're doing about a good a job as can be expected. I'm not sure where you can really go after the Mind Flayer, but having a tangible serial killer type humanoid villain/demon dude seems like a good progression into more horror and adult elements as the kids age.

Dont get me wrong breh. I fully understand why they’ve done this as people would have got tired of a third straight season of the mindslayer as the primary villain (this is also due to the show being dragged out) But at this stage of where the show is it doesn’t work. The mindslayer has been established as the show’s main villain from the upside down world and now all of a sudden we’re introduced to a new but lesser villain from there? The villain this season should have had zero connection to all of that if they wanted a new villain.

I think he has beef with humanity as a whole. El got in his way and I'm sure he's mad at her for sending him to the upside down, but he was a murderous psycho since well before then.
:merchant: well shyt hope she ready to showdown with him
