I think the Mike/Will/Jonathan scenes would be less interesting if not for Argyle that nikka is actually hilarious:mjlol:

But yea i don't care about the Eleven scenes at all
As soon as I heard the Neverending Story theme I knew what was coming and hit the ff, and the storyline was so bad it didn’t even get any screen time in ep 7.
The superhero losing their powers and trying to regain them plot has been done so many times I could even tell during the ff what was going on.

It’s weird. I thought the Russia storyline was by far the weakest and most unnecessary this season. Yet I ended up loving how it concluded.

Ultimately the Mike, Will and Jonathan storyline felt the most pointless.

The other two plot lines in the lab and back in Hawkins were amazing and on par with season 1, but those other two plot lines dragged this season down a bit

Is this the first time they've made it clear that the upside-down is
stuck on the day Will disappeared for the first time?

I think so, seems like new info to me. I always assumed it was a dimension running concurrently with the regular world, but now it seems like some kind of static snapshot. I wonder what that'll mean in the end.

I am going off his love of spiders and all the Hawkins stuff in the upside down are from his memories

naw he’s just an evil version of 11 who got thrown into the upside down world and can also make gate portals like her. He did not create the other universe.

His love for spiders and him even referring to them as “gods” would make it understandable why he’s works for the mindflayer as his general, which is a big spider and god of another world

I definitely like this season more than season 3. Season 3 was kind of a goof ball silly season IMO. I enjoyed it, because I always have fun with this show. But season 4 feels like they took it more to its roots, and even made it darker. Lots of homages and nods to lots of classic horror joints. Elm Street, Hellraiser, Carrie, The Thing...lots of little moments where I caught little head nods. The gang even feels like the Dream Warriors.

There are definitely a few moments that feel a little bloated from all the extra runtime, but for the most part I like what they did. The Duffer Bros are definitely ready for a big feature film. This season feels like a few big movies but just released on Netflix. Netflix definitely needed a W here, and they got one. It seems like the critical response to this season here is positive too.

Looking forward to the final four hours in four weeks.
