Think this was probably my favorite season of all 3 so far.

I can’t even begin to put into words how happy this show makes me as an ‘86 baby.

The duffer brothers ability to tap into everything that we loved from that timeframe is as always masterful.

Favorite two takeaways for me (and my sister) were Dustin and Suzie’s brilliantly cheesy Neverending Story rendition :mjlol:

And then best callback from season 2, my old high school classmate Matty Cardarople as Keith :lolbron:

"The bigger question is how the Russians did it?"

And more importantly, wtf was their plan? Open the portal for a monster that could destroy the world. Nothing they did seemed like they could control it.

Also no way do so many Russians take base in a small town and people not take notice.

My guess, is to weaponise it somehow. But your right someone would have to notice the influx of Russians to a small town? Especially during the cold war

1) Espionage through psychic remote viewing, which leads to...
2) Interdimensional travel between two points on Earth by taking shortcuts through the Upside-Down. Which leads to...
3) Trapping demogorgons in cages using cattle prods, for experimentation/weaponization

In the "flashback" scene, the Russians knew that the Americans has somehow opened a portal and were using it to spy on them, so they were trying to use their own machine in Russia to do the same. Can't fall behind if there's an arms race going on.

Starcourt Industries (the owner of the mall) is described as an "International enterprise". That's their cover story.

I completely forgot the main reason they were using El for her powers in the lab in the first place was to spy on the Russians

Im on Season 1 right now..

I hate the roles that they gave the black kid and the black cop.

They are literally the same person, that doubts everything and is too stupid to think objectively

I got two more episodes to go and tbh this season is mediocre and I'm a huge fan of the show. I'll drop some thoughts soon as I finish the season
