Jay-Z puttin out that "Super Ugly" bullshyt and everyone was like :scust:

For me there's a trilogy of how Jay fukked up in his responses:

1. Superugly was just petty as fukk, was released too fast AND Nas had taken ALL of the power out of that diss by talking about that Carmen shyt up front.

2. Radio interview, you guys already talked about this.

3. Blueprint II (the song): him crying about how much he gives to charity, doing an Austin Powers impression AND the final nail in the coffin "I will not lose for even in defeat there's a valuable lesson learned so it evens up for me".

Them Jay/Nas fan wars were something, me and @jayshiggs were on some Hulk/Thor shyt battering the jigganauts :wow:

We were hardened in the Spot aka wolf territory. The Film Room is really nothing in comparison. :childplease:

Yeah nas deaded it by taking the cat out of the bag himself and saying they weren't together when it happened and she's a grown woman. Then made it look worse by questioning why would jay sleep with her and whether he was that obsessed with him. Chess move shyt

$586 million on a $175 million budget. Far from a flop but I expected more from a Spider-Man movie.

EDIT:

Just read it's made more money than both "Amazing" movies so I'm assuming Sony is happy with their decision to team with Marvel.

Spider-Man: Homecoming Has Passed Both Amazing Spider-Man Movies At Domestic Box Office

Fred.
It's still last worldwide and 2nd to last domestic adjusted for inflation.

So yea I did expect more too.

This thread is definitely long in the tooth though, I come in to see nas vs Jay talks :smugford:

Don't be mad :russ:

Also the flick hasn't opened in China or Japan yet. Which is weird. Normally they do them first. shyt before the US at times or at least the next week.

Let spidey cook. Go enjoy Dunkirk

And @hex you're right but it can still maybe possibly crawl it's way to $300 domestic which is always the magic number

Just watched one of the better spiderman films:ehh:

Not happy about the fact that vulture never used his anti aging serum:martin:

Never saw Bokeem in a shocker suit:francis:

small nitpicks but the plot was cool

Anti aging serum isn't the actual thing vulture does. He did it once in the comic and it was around the tablet of time but it's never been his whole thing. For the most part he's an old man

The 90s cartoon is where I got my idea for what spidey should be:francis:

Yeah that's the wrong idea breh:russ:

Okay let me rephrase. That's one interpretation but it's not gospel. Especially when there are other adaptations which are better and deeper It's not end all be all. They took liberties as well

Just saw the film :mjlol: conservative and alt-right CACs most have experienced spontaneous human combustion. Cast was so diverse this shyt must've caused a shyt storm of caught feelings. "Slaves build the Washington monument"...the teacher saying protesting is so American/patriotic. I know CACS was heated . I was cool with the casting but Flash was too weak/nerdy looking to me. This kid looked he would get bullied.

Holland was born for this roll. He was excellent, way better than that other guy. In the suit or out of it he was great. I like his growth in becoming a real hero. Abandoning fear and becoming a man. That scene where he is under rumble you can feel his fear and weakness. Dude was yelling for help lol. Had to really channel his inner strength my favorite part of the movie. It's cool how they fit spidey in this new marvel universe, I just wasn't too fond about how hi tek his suit was. Does that happen in the comics? Felt like a spidey ironman hybrid.

Overall it was a fun film with some dope action

The high tech suit stuff has happened in the comics recently because Peter invents his own tech and has hooked his suit up. But that's all going to come crashing down soon

I agree, that was one of my biggest gripes, this spidey just didn't seem too much like a can do innovative brainy nerd type. If he's going to idolize Stark it should be to glean his ingenuity but he came off like a groupie with a man crush looking to stark as a father figure. These scenes weren't as endearing or likeable but then again I never read his comics. Peeps that have seem unconcerned:leon:
