Saw it last night. It was great. I really enjoyed it. Wish my kids could see it but they're too young for some of the language and themes.

Really impressed with how Marvel added his story to the mcu. Tom did a great job. I thought they shouldn't have gone with a 15 yr old spidey but it worked very well. Also impressed that iron man wasn't all over the movie like expected. Overall, a great film.

Great film and probably challenges for the top spot in the MCU for me. Will need to see it again to make sure.

I can't stress how refreshing it was to have a grounded, street level super hero flick again, without a giant monster/alien or a big colorful CGI fest with city-wide destruction at the end.

There were so many small things about living in a world with super heroes that they tackled, both from the criminals and Spidey's POV. They answered a bunch of "what would happen if" questions for me, and spent a lot of time fleshing out stuff that comic book movies, especially Spider-man films, tend to skim through. It really felt like someone watched all of the Spidey films, jotted down what wasn't covered, and said lets build a film around that, rather than trying to hit big moment after big moment. The small moments were really fun to watch, like how boring and uneventful it can be as as street level hero, especially in the New York of 2017, that's nowhere hear as crime ridden as the 80s. I always felt like going around looking for crime might be really hard, and they touched on that, even to the point of Spidey fukking up by looking into what wasn't there.

I don't watch the Netflix shows so I have no idea how much they touch on it, but I loved the core business of The Vulture, and how it's seen as small time stuff by the heavy hitters in the Avengers, and that is what makes the criminals feel comfortable enough to work in that small bubble.

I'm not a Spider-man purist like many in here, so I also enjoyed how much he got his ass kicked and failed. He's still a kid, he's still learning, he's overconfident at times, and he's afraid at times. It made almost mundane moments for him exciting to watch, like scaling something really tall. I even liked how Tony had his stamp all over him, which I know many Spidey fans hate. But for me, it all made his little moments of heroism more enjoyable, as well as at least two of the decisions he makes towards the end that highlight who he is without Tony's help. Tony, and the world of the MCU, was really implemented well overall.

I also was really feeling Michael Keaton's performance. He felt like a blue collar version of Walter White, with a motivation I could fukk with that wasn't about world destruction. And just focusing on the action, his suit was devastating in a way I didn't expect. All of the villains really packed a punch, which again was refreshing to see since I was expecting them to be pushovers because they weren't giant aliens with magic powers. So yeah, they really nailed the villain(s) this time around.

School stuff was dope, Aunt May stuff was dope, Donald Glover, dope, Hannibal Burress, dope, Karren, dope. Dope shyt left and right, really.

On first watch, I'm feeling a very enthusiastic 9/10.

Saw the midnight show and even though I didn't like some things overall i thought it was dope. If you're a Spidey stan you should see it this weekend. I probably go watch it again in a couple if weeks.

Nights like tonight remind me how much I love Spidey:wow: We gotta eat off this trilogy Spidey brehs:blessed:

the garfield movies were trash. lots of coli folk spaz over them because we finally got a spidey who talked shyt while fighting. other than that (and the chemistry between pete and gwen stacy), they conveniently ignore everything wrong with both films.

nikkas be singing praises about asm2 and i have to re-read shyt like... ":dwillhuh:. were we watching the same movie?"
I've tried to give those two films the benefit of the doubt but I can't. The only thing I like about those movies was Peter was the one to create his web shooters and I liked the suit in Amazing Spider-Man 2. In fact it's my favorite suit out of every Spider-Man movie in existence.

"Action sequences that were intended to be thrilling just sit there on the screen, incapable of stirring a single pulse, but content in their competence"

This how I feel about the whole movie, not a single pulse was stirred. No organic thrills to be had. This is real surface level filmmaking here and I'm just not here for it.

3/5 for the technical effort. Not better than Spider-Man 2 or Winter Soldier.

I was so underwhelmed that I didn't bother to stay untill the very last credits (which I knew was coming) just read about it online.

Yeah....thats a plot hole.

Tony is all about the accord and responsibility and Spidey is out here destroying shyt left and right and there's really nothing mentioned at all.

Well to be fair, Stark DID keep telling Peter to keep everything low-key. And took away his suit when too much attention and damage was drawn.

I felt a lot of what Stark was saying was implied. And they did mention that Captain America is now a War Criminal.

One thing that also really bothered me but somehow slipped my mind

@MartyMcFly @Ed MOTHERfukkING G
Why the fukk didn't he have spider sense at all? :snoop:

By the end of the film it felt like more people knew he was spider man than didn't

Exploring it in the future. One of the things for the sequel

I give it a solid A-

first the bad

Too much ironman. I hate Spiderman in tech suits and I hate iron Man. EDIT: and flash was a foul ball. Not enough to totally fukk shyt up but he helped nothing at all and could've been better.

That's literally all the bad.

I wanted to see Spiderman doing Spiderman shyt, and this was great at that. Spiderman 2 and act 1 of ASM2 were the only ones to get it as good or better. That was great. Parker was great, and the diolague while fighting was as good as Garfield Spiderman which is tough to match. I respect turning a straight loser in vulture into a pretty good villian with a great motivation. I didn't expect the twist either. I would give it an A or higher without downey all up in the videos...dancin. thank God he said no at the end though.

The tension in the car is one of my favorite comic movie scenes ever. I could watch that 100 times. Outstanding by both of them and with the lighting.

And what was up with calling her just "May" ?

shyt was dope tho...

Spiderman - A-
Spiderman 2 - A+
Spiderman 3 - D+
ASM - B
ASM2 - B+
Homecoming - A-

Spiderman again proves he is simply the goat (outside of Shazam and Luthor :youngsabo: )

Homie the car scene is one of my favorite scenes in the movie too. Easily.
