Overall, it looks like a harmless kids movie.

But Sonic's design.....good God....

The crazy thing is this could have been easily done correctly. I wonder when this got Greenlit because it seems like a cash grab response to the Pokemon flick.

The two were in production around the same time. This trailer has actually been ready for a while, but Paramount held it back because they were hoping to avoid comparisons to Detective Pikachu.

I don't think anyone was clamoring for a Sonic movie....we all kinda knew how it would turn out, even with good CG, its gonna look bad. The design of the character screams "B-Movie" at best, so its no surprise that this is pure fail. Some shyt is possible, we simply don't want it because of the ridiculous nature of the content. Its like making an Earthworm Jim movie...while easily pulled off with today's technology, its still gonna be a worm in a suit shooting a ray gun at cows. Its just far too ridiculous to take seriously.

Carrey fell off a long time ago, so his star power/draw isn't going to save this filth. What they really need to do is focus on a Zelda and Metroid movie...animated or if you're gonna go CG, spend more than 100+ mil.

maybe im desensitized after watching alot of grown european cinema lately but i wouldnt even have my kid to watch this trash.

Nah, I think a Sonic movie is a good idea. The character is interesting and the old Archie Sonic comics were .

The problem is this Live-Action/CGI hybrid business. Just do a full CGI or even 2D Animated movie.
