Right!? I loved Franklin’s come up and it made for a compelling character, and its why people root for him, but looking at everything objectively, Franklin is a sociopathic, die hard capitalist who made shytty calls. He just so happened to have the right connect (Teddy) and team (Louie, Rome, Leon and Avi - access to guns no one else had yet) to bail him out. Had Frank just been getting dope from Avi or any average intermediary, he’s in jail and the show ends after season 2.

You still on this slick defending Louie nonsense. Where was Louie at when she was Franklin's age? Selling p*ssy and stripping. Where was Rome at when he was Franklin's age? Selling dime bags and being aimless. Franklin was smart enough to make millions for everyone. The show is pretty much showing he could've went far in a legitimate business. He failed in school/corporate america because he couldn't take being a nobody and taking orders from cacs. He's the type that needs to have his own company. Instead of channeling that constructively, he chose to do evil and sell poison to his community, which was his flaw. With that said, Jerome is more of a fukk nikka to me. As an Uncle myself, I wouldn't dream of ever doing harm to my nephew. And especially not for no broad. If a broad even made me think that she was pitting me against my sister and my nephew, she would've BEEN gotten dealt with. Also he's decades older than Franklin. He should have more maturity. He reminds me of Chief Keef's cousin Blood Money. Nikka was like 30 hanging around Keef, Reece, Fredo and them, acting just as immature when he was a decade older. If anything, Jerome should be acting like Leon and Leon should be acting like Jerome. I won't even get started on Louie :camby:

Isnt the NGN around 460 to $1? The USD feasts out there
I lived out there between October 2015 - January 2017.

When I arrived, $100 would get you about NGN 20,000 - NGN 25,000

So that's about NGN 200-NGN 250 for every $1.

By the time I left...that number rose to about NGN 300-NGN 325 for every $1.

shyt it bananas. What makes it more weird is that they literally JUST introduced Burger King to 9ja. While I was out there you only had Domino's Pizza...Coldstone Creamery...and KFC...and those spots were seen as nice places to dine at...like how we would view an Outback Steakhouse or a Chili's or something. So why has the NGN gone even further down despite the increased Western influence in 9ja and increased expatriate presence?

CORRUPTION.

Frank never been a step ahead, that’s why he always made terrible decisions. Seasons one and two was just belle roomie mistakes, season 3 he got that pressure and ended up killing dre. Season 4 was all bad decisions with Manboy and scully/tanosi until the last episode. Season 5 was bad decisions as well, that’s how he lost all his business to Louie.
Its like people are trying so hard to make Frank an innocent victim in the story :gucci:

Season has been pretty good so far. At one point it seemed like it was to much going on but maybe I just need to go back and check the past two seasons again. This is still a different show then what Singleton originally had in mind I believe. I've still watched it from the beginning and I think it's a pretty good time to be wrapping up though.

How exactly does the show differ now than when it did when Singleton ran it?

I feel like it was more grounded. And the writing was a bit tighter.

I don't know if the Tiger episode would have popped off of John was still around.

And I don't like Franklin's baby mama either. They wanted to add a different purpose to Franklin, give him a reason to get out....but it's not working for me.

Losing the Latina actress cause she actually had a drug problem was bizarre to say the least.

They haven't really known what to do with Oso either. Him just being Teddy's enforcer is just a waste of that character/actor.

With Leon, the righteous transformation is on brand for Singleton, but I think they needed more talented writers. Either that, or I think the audience is more sophisticated than it actually is.

Criminal dramas have been at a high level for 20-30 years now. Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Narcos, Better Call Saul, The Wire, etc - it seemed to me this show was heading in that direction of greatness. But at some point they lost their way. This show might only better than Ozarks when all is said and done.

It's not money, it's not production values, it's not the acting, it's the writing/direction/editing.

That scene with Franklin and Jerome at the diner is still a standout though. The wedding from last season was great in concept, especially Franklin having it out with himself.

Would Singleton have made this better? I don't know. I think the Ghana trip and return would have been more epic. But if this was the direction he was headed to, I dunno.
