When Leon went to Franklin crib and they were going out the back an Ad started, at the end of the ad the show Atlanta came on had to exit that and go back to snowfall to see the remainder, at first I was like is that it? “did they just end it like that? “

Teddy had to die… Giving him to the KGB would have only kept him alive and he end up working with the Russians to undermine the United States Gov and he would have used the Russians to come back and kill Saint and everyone in the family

Yeah he killed folk but he was in a position as a us gov employee to provide secrets… Of course the Russians would have given in a temp pass.. the point is he would have still be alive.. Teddy was good at stalling

And even in that last part where Leon offered him a job, his reply was "you got $10 on you?" Dude didn't want anything in the end but a drink. You can't help a person who's already given up.

Nah. Plenty of intelligent bums out here. IMO it was just poorly written. The nikka been unhinged all season they should've just stayed on that path and left that stupid time lapse alone.

Let's call it out for what it is,

They were scared to fully villainize Franklin.

If they had him do what he did without the alcohol element viewers would have wanted the character dead at the end and a "sad/tragic ending" would not have worked or even made logical sense.

And it's why the whole sudden alcohol element was cheap because the show setting up for Franklin from the start of season 5 to turn on his closest ones WILLINGLY but the show then abandoned that in the last episode.

Nah. I get that Franklin had to have a demise. Dead or in jail would be the most realistic outcome. But the show wanted to do something different. I’m saying that Franklin has shown himself to be too intelligent to go out like THAT. He’s way more likely to go to jail (remember he’s got multiple bodies on him) or dead (remember he was willing to do whatever to get his money. And constantly put himself in situations where someone would want to kill him).

Nothing I’m saying is ridiculous.

Damn. That was one of the most powerful series finales I have seen. Damson, really the entire cast was excellent. Leon had one of the most interesting character arcs I've seen over the course. When he accidentally shot that baby he changed.

I had a cousin like Franklin, brilliant dude but he went to alcohol and eventually crack. He died at 42, he looked 70. Hair all gray and falling out.

Franklin was always an addict. He was addicted to gambling in a sense. He always was trying to fly too close to the sun. Even after he lost the 73 million he had enough legal assets to cash out but he lost the big fish and turned to alcohol to drown out those feelings of despair and hopelessness.
