Franklin had an addictive personality, so when his one addiction was taken from him, he replaced it with another one.
nikka how do you know
Death or jail wouldn't be suffering because guys in that life already figure they're headed for that. Franklin crashed out to the point he ended up alone, an addict and homeless. Thats suffering and his face in the last shot showed that.
People don’t hate the ending because it wasnt a happy ending
They hate the ending because they forcingly made him an alcoholic out of nowhere
If they wanted to make it realistic he shoulda took his first drink way back in Season 4. Maybe while he was on a cane to ease his injuries or to deal with the stress of the manboy and skully situation. Shoulda been gradual
many people feel Franklin was way too methodical and straight edge to fall victim to alcohol. most of the drug dealers who were big time and became drug addicts were never disciplined in the first place most of them were sex addicts who sniffed coke while they was on top which is why alot of them were ultra violent. Franklin was none of that, he was faithful to all his women, never drank or smoked. his main goal was business
so to see him randomly become an alcoholic (even though he became desperate for his money that was stolen from him) is viewed as bad writing
a more fitting ending for him woulda been Henry Hill’s ending in Goodfellas or jail.
me personally i feel they shoulda went the Harry O route and had him get locked up and giving Leon all his financial assets to start a gangsta rap label which would have segway’d into the spinoff and made Leon become Suge Knight and made music industry power be Leon’s addiction like how the drug game power was Franklin’s.
Them rewatches are gonna hit real different now that we know how the Frank Saint story ends.
Why yall act like he became an alchohlic "immediately"? He just decided to get drunk after losing 72 million. They only show you Franklin introducing himself to alchohol to cope. Obviously within that 2 year period,at some point he decided to turn to the bottle and become an alchoholic. But we dont know when he decided to become a drunk.
Yeah man,I watched an old episode earlier where Avi tells Frank.
"Dont ever get too greedy, because then they know your weakness. And once they know your weakness, you lose your advantage. Keep your advantage my friend"
Thank you, it’s like, i get it, but this is what breaks him and sends him over the edgebecause he handled prior stressful situations more soundly
skully and manboy tryna kill him at the same time
andre searching his crib
mel shooting him
accidentally killing kevin
teddy tryna kill his father
never turned to a drink. with how methodical franklin was, the more realistic thing is that he scrambles the cash he still has and try to pull together about $3 mill and brainstorm. yes, he’d still be depressed but becoming a homeless alcoholic is farfetched and forced as a way to make it full circle with his father which is viewed by some as a cheap trope
his addiction was moneyfranklin only was addicted to getting back his 73 million
before that he did not have the personality of an addict
It’s the hard truth. Majority of drug dealers do not get a happy ending. Dead, locked up or broke
This, like i said I’d rather him be a regular nobody working a 9-5 he hates, that’s the real reality if it’s not jail or the grave, i guess nikkas hope he finds some way off the streets but probably not,People don’t hate the ending because it wasnt a happy ending

And what especially stings now is that speech Teddy had when he said it was him who "allowed" Franklin to become who he became in the first place. That person goofy. Dying or being in jail is much more easy on Franklin then where he is now. He loss everything, including his mind, will never talk to his moms again, will never see his son and he is his dad.
He has nobody or nothing. It’s legit over for him.
Dying would be way to easy
