Franklin just wanted the money to get to the banks for his shyt that was setup for him to be out the game. To him, anything else was secondary. He already showed he could handle Teddy if it came to that and he did it while being broke. And thats only if Teddy changed his mind about walking away. We have to assume the point of the writing (not characters) is that Teddy admitting to Franklin why he did it and admitting to Cissy what happened to Alton, that he was going to let shyt go. We heard him calling the escrow company so that wasn't fake so we have assume he intended on making the transfer. And Havemeyer wasn't there to double cross Franklin otherwise he wouldve shot them when Cissy killed Teddy. Everything was on the up and up at that moment...until Cissy.

Realistically, it made no sense. But as far as the show goes, Cissy told Franklin that Leon or Franklin's baby wouldn't be anywhere near when the exchange happened.

I loved the episode, great acting and dialogue and the end was great because it leaves you conflicted because everybody has been waiting for Teddy to get what he deserves but the way it happens everyone is like damn not quite like that but life don’t work that way. Also to think Franklin would just receive the money and everyone would live happily every after is silly. But I would think having the account numbers they maybe able to do something with that and Veronique moms if she’d be willing to help.

This…. nikkaz think Teddy has a change of heart because he said he would split the money. nikka is the biggest liar and manipulator on the show. nikka flew all the way to Cuba to clap up Franklins dad even though he said he was going to let it slide. Cissy killed Teddy because if he can lie so intricately about drugging Alton and dropping him at a prison in PR then he's capable of lying about anything else. Especially following the ultimatum she gave Franklin, she honestly did what any mother would do in her position to protect her son.

She didn't do it out of emotional reckless abandon, she did it because she knew shyt wouldn't stop. Remember she was a Black Panther.
