He did that shyt because he cared about his "Unc" & Louie on some level, but he doesn't want to give Louie the satisfaction of knowing that he still harbors some familial feelings for her.
He's mad at her. He don't want her thinking he cares about her, even if it would be in his best interest to do so.

If Franklin actually was the "devil", he would've just told Louie what she wanted to hear.
If Franklin was the devil, he would have sat back and watched the train then told unc about it. Louie is still stuck on her ego and not taking responsibility for her actions.
