I think for hot shyt, it’s was just protocol for her and Jerome to reach out to him and get him involved. Dirty cops gave them a extra layer or protection. The fact that Franklin was with Jerome during the rescue, shows that Jerome just didn’t rush into the situation which in turn, would have caused him to get Buckley in the mix.
