I'm not saying Alton should trust Irene but does the average viewer really think Alton should just do nothing while the CIA keeps pumping crack into LA? Even if he had the reporter killed (not in Alton's nature), the story might have came out anyway and with their family explicitly mentioned

Alton is a bytch and the cowardly nerve of him to really think that Irene would some how "protect" him and the family. How the fukk did he think he could outrun the damn CIA when they can't even duck the LAPD.

Dude is clean for a reason and it's not because of his own magical determination. Everything he is and has as a sober man is because of his son and wife to a lesser extent.

I think Fatback said he killed the girl when he turned himself in. Knowing the LAPD, they probably didn't care who actually did the crime as long as they could tell the public that they made an arrest.
