Amazing camerawork and cinematography in this episode.

All bullshyt aside, Mel is lucky she’s not dead or gotten raped. Franklin showed immense weakness scrambling around looking for her but at least he used the cover of her being a cop’s daughter as the reasoning on the streets. bytch fast tracked herself into Rock City and even went on tour at some of the finest crackhouses.

He needs to tighten up moving forward because Mel is gone and not even college will fix a basehead.

Y’all do understand that these nikkas is still kids. Not even 21. Y’all acting like these nikkas ghost and tommy age. And them nikkas damn near 40 super simps over a bytch neck deep in the drug game

OG’s who were alive during that period, was it realistic for a girl like Mel to even try crack? Especially one who lived in the environment and saw how hard it hit the first wave of users?

Brilliant episode. Best of the series thus far. I experienced legitimate anxiety watching the episode. That skating rink sequence was some of the best television I have ever watched.

The show is simply magic for us born and raised in that era, witnessed the after effects in the 90s as teenagers and then saw the rising of hip hop to the mainstream in the mid to late 90s as adults.

The shows writers are setting up for Franklyn to cop out to the “if I didn’t do it, someone else would” attitude of many of the dealers of the day!

If this show doesn’t win any awards for this episode, that would be a tragedy.

Wasn’t being negative. That’s just the reality. It’s harder for black shows to get recognized. It’s why Atlanta winning was so huge, and even that took Donald Glover being a recognizable name in white spaces to get it the interest it needed. I’m not even bullshytting when i say Snowfall is approaching Breaking Bad levels of good. And it’s like we the only nikkas watching it. It’s not even popping on black twitter like that...

I've heard popular platforms like JBP praise Snowfall on multiple occasions.
The heads are paying attention.

Most sleeper hits are like this. The shows like Power with the live tweeting are the ones that run out of steam near the end..it depends too much on fukkery and suspension of disbelief to keep up ratings. Then comes plot holes and rushed writing

This show will be good but never be the goat because

• it was stolen from the real freeway rick, and thus, watered down
• it doesnt include gangs in the 80s in LA gangs had been operating since the EARLY 70s
• John, who stole it, is now dead. Apparently they was begging freeway for help for season 3, and we still havent seen 1 crip or blood. Imagine how inaccurate season 4 will be?

Sad because I love the show, but it can never be an A- show due to the above. Plus season 1 sucked. B+

Seeing this interview years back really shook me to how deep crack epidemic was.

This shyt kinda fukked me up. He doesn’t look at your “typical” crack head with ruin clothes. He looks like he chilling. He highly intelligent and has skills that would make him successful. But one wrong choice, one bad influence, and it’s over. He said it, crack is the boss. What got me is that he understood perfectly what crack was doing to him and he couldn’t stop it. He died. A friend of mine did a interview similar to this to a mother of one of his friends. She was like what bob said: undercover crack head. Her family didn’t know she relapsed. So my friend interviewed her just to capture her journey on trying to finally shake the bug. But she recently died falling down a stairwell in a project after getting high and passing out. She broke her neck. For crack....

It’s idk 83 the olympics was in 84 and that ain’t happen then it’s prolly been 2.5 years in the show Mel was I think one year younger then Franklin in high school and she just graduated. and Franklin said 2 weeks ago when he told reed to come with him in the diner. Said something in the parking lot like like we don exchange 25 million in product least we can go is get a sandwich

I think a couple of weeks ago they mentioned that the Olympics were going on now. So by now they're probably in late Summer '84.

I can’t believe I was sleeping on this for so long. I just binge watched this in a week. And than just payed to watch episode 8 on the PSN. This show is definitely a gem.
