Brilliant episode. Best of the series thus far. I experienced legitimate anxiety watching the episode. That skating rink sequence was some of the best television I have ever watched.

The show is simply magic for us born and raised in that era, witnessed the after effects in the 90s as teenagers and then saw the rising of hip hop to the mainstream in the mid to late 90s as adults.

The shows writers are setting up for Franklyn to cop out to the “if I didn’t do it, someone else would” attitude of many of the dealers of the day!

If this show doesn’t win any awards for this episode, that would be a tragedy.

RIP John Singleton.

They say you can't turn a bad girl good
but once a good girl gone bad...
she's gone forever
I mourn forever
shyt, I gotta live with the fact
I did you wrong forever
:mjcry: :wow:

Might have been the best episode of the series :wow:

It really was. The crack era is finally here.

  • Franklin lost Mel but earned Man Boy's loyalty

  • Leon's stoic awareness of what was finna unfold :wow:

  • Mel and Wanda going on a crack adventure :dead:

  • The return of El Oso :blessed: I only wish they put that fight in a scene.

My question is... Where does the season go from here? :dwillhuh: Franklin vs Man Boy looks officially squashed. It's hard to see Andre going THAT hard against Franklin after finding his daughter when even the police couldn't, but Idk.

You think? I think he's reading up too much for that. I got the idea after I posted that Reed is gonna flip on him, given his convo with his wife. But at this point, the city is already ablaze

I don't trust that Jameis Winston looking youngin Leon hired either :leostare: Makes me think of Jimmy Darmody's son on Boardwalk Empire if you watched that show.

shyt too black and it’s on the wrong network. A show like this, would do better on HBO cause then at least HBO could push it as the next Wire. But i follow a lot of tv critics and shyt and NOBODY is talking about this show, just like they all ignored the Wire until it was done. But your right, if the cool kids on twitter start talking this shyt up more, all the crucial white critics will try to get hip and start pushing this show for awards.
Damn breh. Why the negativity? It was renewed for Season 4 only a few eps into this season. That's how these shows are. Sadly most people don't have the attention span for dramas that release weekly episodes. I'm pretty certain after this season a lot more people will catch on when they can watch the first three seasons back to back in anticipation of the fourth. I remember a lot of people not feeling the slow build of the 1st season that dropped off. I didn't mind it because I could see it was building to something great.

Best show on TV right now easily.

Amazing camerawork and cinematography in this episode.

All bullshyt aside, Mel is lucky she’s not dead or gotten raped. Franklin showed immense weakness scrambling around looking for her but at least he used the cover of her being a cop’s daughter as the reasoning on the streets. bytch fast tracked herself into Rock City and even went on tour at some of the finest crackhouses.

He needs to tighten up moving forward because Mel is gone and not even college will fix a basehead.

Sad because The Americans suffered the same fate. Show was fire, had great promo and great visuals but wasn’t getting that stimulus package.

Wasn’t being negative. That’s just the reality. It’s harder for black shows to get recognized. It’s why Atlanta winning was so huge, and even that took Donald Glover being a recognizable name in white spaces to get it the interest it needed. I’m not even bullshytting when i say Snowfall is approaching Breaking Bad levels of good. And it’s like we the only nikkas watching it. It’s not even popping on black twitter like that...
