To your Christianity point

I think the writers used Christianity to convey the nihilism of the entire show. That theme runs through every season

Nothing is fair and just. There is no such thing as justice, only threats and negotiations based on levels of leverage. EVERYONE is a selfish piece of shyt only looking out for themselves

On the other hand the only character to make it to the other side clean was Sam, who was truly innocent and too dumb to be overly ambitious. I definitely don't think its a coincidence his arc ended the way it did

The inverse of a character like Sam would be Maya and Mel, where they're so naive and hard headed about "right and wrong" but smart enough to know deep down that the world is what it is. I busted out laughing when Maya told Marty "God will know". That was the only card she had left in a situation where the world showed her EXACTLY how the game is played

The nihilism is to the level where somebody like the priest almost looks like a comedic character. I love that Marty and Wendy never took him seriously and always looked at him like :ld::shaq2:this nikka serious????" because he wasn't much different than anybody else

Dang, that makes sense:francis::demonic:

The 2nd half was cool. I mean I actually am happy that for ONCE we have an ending that's not cliche like most of these drug-related shows and movies are.

I believe them surviving the crash pretty much sums up the Byrde's the entire series and especially why it ended the way it ended. The Byrde's are ruthless and the epitome of evil, everything they touch winds up being destroyed or to their demise, but yet they ALWAYS come out on top. They SHOULD OF ALL BEEN KILLED from that accident and Wendy was right when talking to the preacher who wrongfully believed it was a sign that God gave their last pass that it was a sign proving they're essentially untouchable. So, Mel said they're NOT supposed to win, because in MOST of these drug cartel films, the bad guys NEVER succeed, he was proven wrong, that the BYRDE'S WILL ALWSYS COME OUT ON TOP, no matter who else doesn't. They WON.
