Don't think it's better overall then Breaking Bad. But as far as all-time discussions, it's def it. Part 2 was def a slow burner until the last episode. But it's not one skippable season. Most my all-time great shows have skippable seasons. This doesn't. So it gotta be all-time to me.

As far as this season. Didn't really care about none of those deaths until near the end. Which is surprising. Because each season has one death that just shocks me. Marty character, my goodness. I hope they don't do Jerome from Snowfall this way next year. Ngga just gave up being a man. I get the Wendy hatred. But I also get why she is the way she is. All stemming from her daddy issues. She gotta be in control because of him. And her whole family gotta feel it. She's crazy but she doesn't bother me as a villian.

Ruth- This part 2 was torture because they featured her so much. Hate her and her smart mouth. Don't mean I don't appreciate her acting and will cheer when she wins Golden Globes, Emmy's etc. Even though I don't like character, don't mean I don't recognize the greatness.

Major spoiler and ending.
MAJOR SPOILER So happy Ruth did not get a happy ending. Wish she got shot in her smart mouth. The foreshadowing with the car crash was dumb. That took away all the drama on whether Wendy's dad was going to take them. You know that wasn't happening because the car crash didn't take place.

I really wanna know what was the point about Christianity in this show (bibical names of Ruth, Jonah). God was brought up alot but I'm trying to figure out the deeper meaning. I get that they showed the priest was wrong about the sign for the car crash. And Wendy was right. But I'm sure it's something else as well. Wendy's father was a hypocrite. Her mother wasn't. I don't know. I gotta think about it.

Lastly, I'm trying to figure out why these critics saying it's a Soprano ending. It's clear Jonah popped old boy. This wasn't a mystery like Tony where it cut off. You heard the gun shot. Jonah embraced that thug life.

Well, that's done. I feel like I slogged through the season just to say I finished it.

Ok, my spoiler tag is broken so I'll just say there was only ever gonna be one ending for that character so I wasn't too broken up about it. But the very end made me roll my eyes.

Just finished it. Better than part one but it's still clear that they didn't know how to pace this story across 14 episodes.

Halfway through the season it hit me that the reason why Wendy can be so frustrating to watch is because of how in love she is with her own cleverness; she just refuses to consider that she could ever be outmaneuvered or mistaken about something, and it usually comes back to haunt them.

Final episode spoilers:
Ruth got what she deserved :yeshrug:
I generally liked the character, but by the time she started blithely fukking with the casino I was begging for someone to shoot her in her fukking kneecaps. She just played too many games with people you don't play with. I knew it was coming, with so much emphasis on getting her record expunged and building a house and such.

My feelings towards Jonah swung between indifference and irritation for most of the series before veering into outright disdain this season.... but boy did he redeem himself by being the one to FINALLY blow that cop's head off :banderas: mf had one of the most shootable faces I've ever seen

-Ruth is a fukking idiot that deserves what she got in the end. at a certain point every move she made was just petty emotional shyt. fukking with the casino ownership was the last dumbass straw. The way Marty was just like "of course :beli:" sums up the entirety of this show.
-the constant theme of people around Marty and Wendy being like "YOU DID THIS TO ME:damn:" is fukkin hilarious to me now.
-I'm glad Marty and Wendy were getting wins though. As bad as they seemed, i feel like most of these other characters were on some fukk shyt being greedy or trying to grasp that same power.
-that goofy ass alcoholic bartender chick brought her dumbass back like an idiot. bytch you made it out the game and was living a good like in Florida. :dahell: How you let bum ass Ruth come talk you into coming back to the Ozarks? :aicmon: Junky ass bytch got the nerve to be screaming on somebody on the phone.I swear i said "what the fukk?" at the same time Marty said it after that phone call.
-This dumb ass private investigator hopefully was the one shot at the end. Again, the theme of this show, people trying to be greedy and making bad decisions then blaming the Byrdes. They literally handed dude his life and career back to him and he out there still on that wack ass case. :childplease: Man, go back to Chicago and let that bullshyt go. :dead:

To your Christianity point

I think the writers used Christianity to convey the nihilism of the entire show. That theme runs through every season

Nothing is fair and just. There is no such thing as justice, only threats and negotiations based on levels of leverage. EVERYONE is a selfish piece of shyt only looking out for themselves

On the other hand the only character to make it to the other side clean was Sam, who was truly innocent and too dumb to be overly ambitious. I definitely don't think its a coincidence his arc ended the way it did

The inverse of a character like Sam would be Maya and Mel, where they're so naive and hard headed about "right and wrong" but smart enough to know deep down that the world is what it is. I busted out laughing when Maya told Marty "God will know". That was the only card she had left in a situation where the world showed her EXACTLY how the game is played

The nihilism is to the level where somebody like the priest almost looks like a comedic character. I love that Marty and Wendy never took him seriously and always looked at him like :ld::shaq2:this nikka serious????" because often shows would let something as ridiculous as a cartel priest slide. He tried to bring all that magical wise sage shyt to some American cacs and they damn near laughed in his face
