Toss up between The Wire and The Sopranos.

Skins season 1 and 2 were pretty believable as well.

This show does a pretty good job at foreshadowing.

In the beginning of the season Helen asked Nelson to give her a heads up if it was her time to go. He said yeah, sure.
In season 1, episode 8 Wendy mentions that she used to break into houses to escape her reality and then she’d vandalize them after getting angry about not belonging. She would steal a beer and put food coloring in the milk. That’s exactly what she did in the first season of episode 3.

This show is a great rewatch :leon:

There's alot.
The whole time watching the show I'm like they told me this was coming.
Wendy telling the the lawyer if anyone touches her kids.
:lupe:.

Then Cade pushed her daughter :birdman:

Finished S3 tonight. Overall I like the show and have a lot of thoughts, but I have major problems with the writing/plotting. For the most part it's solid - it's an interesting story, even if a lot of the basic beats are things we've seen in other shows. There are interesting characters, etc. But I really dislike when you can see that a plot has been written into a ditch, and then the writers take a ridiculous u-turn out of it - or worse yet, do something straight up stupid. So many problems Marty and Wendy go through are played up for drama, only for the solution to be something ridiculous. Or a plot that seems to be fine/not super important will suddenly blow up, requiring a dramatically stupid resolution.

Two examples of a married couple going on a walk during a dispute over business issues, only for one person to end up dead - thus either extending a conflict or resolving a conflict. First the Snells, then the old couple who didn't want to sell the second casino. Then the entire thing with the therapist. You introduce a genius forensic accountant...but the Byrd family therapist simply disappears and nobody looks into it, which would result in tracking down a six figure payment, an exotic car purchase, etc? Nope, it just disappeared.

Every time they need to achieve something, they come up with some ludicrous plan to make it work that rarely seems earned. These short cuts, coincidences, and hard/fast resolutions make it impossible to compare this show to GREAT shows. It kinda reminds me of the worst parts of Breaking Bad, specifically the...plane crash from a certain season. Overall I thought S3 had a lot of great moments but also felt like Ben allowed the writers to really fall into a lot of poor plotting due to his mental illness. Why Marty didn't get rid of him sooner, I'll never know.

Ending was cool, although not that satisfying since Helen didn't get to "know" she lost. I'm gonna assume S4 is gonna feature the other cartel attacking while the Byrds are in Mexico, delaying their return to the US.

Just finished Season 3!

Not much to add after reading though, but has anyone mentioned how they may be building up to Marty’s son having mental health issues?

Like someone mentioned, when he was playing with dead animal in Season 1 they mentioned Wendy’s brothers issues...that stuff runs in the family in real life...and it seemed like he finally broke...

thoguhts?

definitely thought about it with him playing with the dead animals. I just knew somewhere down the line something was gonna snap

I might be wrong, but Marty hasn't gotten rid of anyone in the show. To your other point, I think the point of the show is that everyone around them gets corrupted by the desire of money or taking them down, and everyone ends up dead.

Dope series. I can't believe I slept on this all this time. Very well acted and entertaining. Too many quotables and a couple moments had me laughing out loud. Very dark cinematography. That Wyatt-Darlene scene had a breh:gag: But I definitely could see what Jacob seen in a young Darlene:takedat:Gotta love a take charge woman. Maybe I missed it in the show or previous threads, but have they ever fully explained what dirt the Snells(or should I say Darlene) have over the Sheriff Nix? I mean they had buddy agreeing to move weight for them so I figure it has to be something crazy.

Add in:
1. passing baby Zeke around like a blunt.:francis:
2. Marty somehow intimidating the medical examiner to interfere with a federal murder investigation by swapping a dozen bodies out out of storage.:gucci::mjlol:

Think we're about to get another plot hole with that one as they sure seemed to be implying that the war is over. Apparently the feds moved on the Lauguas cartel the same day Marty gave the info to Maya.:ohhh::stopitslime::pachaha:

Helen's "confession" ploy was pretty weak too. Sure felt like Navarro had already given her the go ahead to off the Byrdes if she thought she need to so faking Marty's plea deal seemed like unnecessary theater.:ld:

I thought they made it clear he didn't care about the dead animals, but was interested in the Vultures.
But I think thats why they invested in the brother's arc. I think they are gonna lay the path for the son to go crazy out there. I mean, it would be hard not to knowing what the parents are involved in.

Executive producer and actor Jason Bateman said he hopes to begin season four of his Netflix drama “Ozark” in November.
“We’re going to start November 9,” said Bateman to IndieWire. “Everything is moving well toward that, and we’re very confident in the guidelines and protocols we’re going to be following. We’ve got tons of consultants, [and] we’re learning a lot from other productions.”

“Ozark” shoots interiors at Eagle Rock Studios in Norcross and exteriors in a range of locations such as Lake Allatoona, Braselton and Midtown Atlanta. The final season will be 14 episodes, split into two.
This show, like many, can’t fully sequester cast and crew, so Batemen is anticipating some positive tests might pop up.

“[Sometimes] we’ve got 60 or 70 people on stage, [and] sometimes [we’re] in a very small location,” Bateman said. “You’ve got ad-hoc air conditioning tubes and vents going in there, pushing air. Every one of those crew members is going home every night to families that are not having to follow a strict quarantine... So chances are high that we’re going to have some virus come through our set — often.”
