lol this absolutely wasn’t enough

marty basically throwing him his enemy on a platter wasn’t even enough although it sweetened the pot

dude nailed it very accurately when he stated helen overplayed her hand...navarro was still weighing things out...who he was leaning toward is anyone’s guess but taking everything into consideration helen had to go...she took things too personal and was thinking primarily of herself...the byrd's showed they were thinking of themselves as well as navarro...the forged confession was the nail in the coffin
You're assuming that Navarro knew Helen's hand.

Like I said in a previous post, those papers that Helen had drafted up for that deal with the Feds could still be in play. If Navarro goes through Helen's belongings and sees that, then what?

The very last scene of this season was meant to send a very clear message to the Byrdes and it wasn't one of reassurance. It is extremely refreshing to get a brutally honest depiction of something like this as opposed to romanticizing it.
Does Navarro make the message even clearer in Season 4 by bodying Helen's daughter and ex-husband too?

Finally finished it this morning. What a show and what a season:wow:

The acting and writing is stellar from top to bottom. The guy who played Ben bodied that role something serious. A few things were puzzling. Ruth was fukking up a lot. And yeah the Ben character was thrown in as an agitator and plot thickener but yet it worked so flawlessly imo. They did it the right way. Darlene should've got merked for shooting the Mob bosses son's cock off. She's a great character but she's does a lot with no muscle rollin' with her. Also don't get the FBI agent being that pregnant and still running around the casino and staying in hotels like that. Helen came way out of character at the end. She doesn't know shyt about running a casino. Still a great season tho. This show is starting to rub shoulders with some of the greats if you ask me.

They're already dead.

I think Navarro knows Helen forged the papers, which is why she got killed. Navarro could have easily separated Helen out the Byrde business without killing her, she was one of his top people.

word...I made the same inference regarding why navarro killed helen...sometimes writers don’t need to spell everything out

I’m curious tho why you feel he wiped out her entire family?

I didn’t think of that but it makes sense tho given marty and his wife (name just totally escaped me for no reason) always feared they and the kids were expendable so I guess the same would go for helen and her family...plus it doesn’t help that the daughter knows shyt

damn...I’m eager as hell to see season 4 now...I’m not gonna lie season 2 did not leave me as excited...I actually had doubts about season 3 but they did a great job

Yea because the daughter knows about the cartel, so Navarro has to assume she told the dad as well.

This

I don't think it's unreasonable to assume Navarro got somebody in the feds that would slide him that info

I was even speculating and thinking maybe marty's agent may have done it in a desperate attempt to save their lives even tho it’s completely uncharacteristic of her...but the byrds have a way of bringing ppl into their madness...the only reason why I’m not 100% sold on that thought is I can’t think of how she would’ve been able to get in contact w/ navarro himself or his ppl that soon

From the first episode of the series they've shown dude doesn't really leave loose ends. I just don't know what showing their deaths does for the viewer or, plot-wise, what it does to drive the point further home for the Byrdes. Navarro doesn't know that Helen's daughter knows about their operation. But questions would eventually be asked when they don't hear from her and the last thing they need is a missing person's investigation down there on top of all the other fed shyt:patrice:

They could do it like how The Americans series kicked off... show the aftermath of Helen's demise.

Viewers would clearly see how the Byrde family's story could end if they don't satisfy Navarro, and it closes the Erin/Helen narrative. I guess it could be an off camera scenario that they reference during the show too.
