I mean they pretty much fathered that southern movement. You would think their hits are made for things like this

They did and they didn't. What most consider that movement that really hit mainstream sounded nothing close to the DF lineage.

The run of songs from the 1:12:00 point :takedat:

im pretty sure they're going to get hype for nas, but wont know any of his lyrics

enough internet blogs/rappers big up nas enough for the hipsters to atleast know who he is

my homeboys looked at me crazy when i said i never want to go to coachella cuz the crowd would get me heated, bet they understand now :smh:
Went last year.. from the hip hop acts I saw Danny Brown, Push, Bronson, Chainz & Wu-Tang. Everyone was super into it

I'm not mad at what I watched of it (had to leave after about 25 minutes to go to work). Band was dope, great set list, and they sound pretty similar to how they do on record. But the crowd definitely sucked, because they either didn't know much about them or did know about them but didn't grow up with them like many of us did. They could've been more energetic themselves, but people seem to underestimate how much performers feed off of the audience. Hopefully they work kinks out and the rest of the shows go well, and hopefully they get some better audiences.

Loved it. You can't really see many acts in a day... maybe 4... it's very tiring. But there's a billion things to do, everyone is happy (and high). I met lots of brilliant people too. Great experience i'd advise anyone to do it (car camping).

Music wise: like any festival if you near the front and fully immersed in the atmosphere you probably won't be able to hear very much. It's more about energy than anything else. If post-up near the back you'll be able to appreciate the sound more. Method Man's performance stood-out to me, he was like a man on fire. Delivered all his rhymes with gusto. Looked like a billion dollar star with charisma oozing from him.

Haven't seen Kast's performance but i'm a massive, massive fan. The shyt is personal with me. If I had to name albums that resonate with my soul, OutKast have 2. I'll see them in London in July. I'm going to be amped. Shows in Europe tend to go 2 ways. It's either full of hardcore stans or people who are there on some "cool" shyt. They are on the same bill as Bruno fukking Mars, so it will either be totally amazing or like this coachella show.

I remember dre saying he didn't wanna be on stage rapping at 40 but he could see big boi doing that. nikka called it. 40 years old singing to kids who think "hey ya" is your only hit. Seeing those "Who's outkast?" tweets must be sobering as fukk.

Found the article. It was from Entertainment Weekly back in 2006:

"Dré says he has absolutely no interest in rehashing old hits on the road. ''It's like wearing a Jheri curl in the fifth grade,'' he says, ''and then trying to wear a Jheri curl at 65, just to look like you did in the fifth grade:wow:. I don't wanna keep throwing myself back into that. I don't wanna be on stage rapping at age 40.:skip: I probably wanna be at some club, playing saxophone.''

The end of Outkast? | EW.com

I feel bad for big boi, but real talk....I'm glad this nikka dre got shytted on. nikka thought he was above rap after "hey ya". Thought he was cemented into the psyche of the world and never had to rap again. Like he dropped Thriller on the game with that album. Dropping his little nonsense features here and there like he was blessing the poor rap masses with such lyrical gems like "so we call him roto rooter slash plumber, cash runner" nikka shut up. nikkas were fiending for this nikka to drop that "return of the g" type flow. He didn't want to. Dude hasn't come hard no homo since 98. NOthing but that mr. belvedaire flow. Now he comes back spitting that hard shyt only to get shytted on by snotty nosed white kids talmbout "the fukk is an outkast?":bryan:fukkin Brandy-ass nikka, these kids only know you as moesha. Stay retired you suspender wearing fakkit. And Aquemeni's in my top 5 albums of all-time.

Ok.. my take

Just finished watching the set.

I think the performance mainly exposes that the Speaker Boxxxx/Love Below album was pure trash. That whole set just lost the crowd. That album is their biggest album off of Hey Ya.

I thought that album was trash when it dropped and it still holds that way today. All the other songs went off well.

Dre had stage rust. I dont know what more he could expect from the crowd. Crowd started off hyped but the Speaker Boxxx shyt just drained them.

I suggest that they just slim that portion down. If its not gonna work at Coachella, where you think those songs would get a reception, then its not going to work.

Rap is a fad for most people. They don't follow artists entire careers like they do rock/pop stars. Dre thought he was above rap and could come back on Bruce Springsteen type sheit. A young black audience would not have been that hype either.

:snoop: at the people actually thinking people who attended Coachella thinking real fans would attend. Its nothing but a bunch of hype chasing folks (majority sake), for the most part.

Coachella was never a respected hip hop concert. It was rock and has changed to something else (EDM, ALternative, Rock, Rap)[DOUBLEPOST=1397351882][/DOUBLEPOST]:salute::salute::salute: to playing hella tracks of Aquemini. I wish these Coachella kids woulda listened to that 1 time before attending.
