Episode 4 was a fun Rebels-like ep but this shyt ain't Rebels :beli: like, in a vacuum I got no issue with it but there's only six of this series and I feel there's so much more compelling stuff they could be doing.

You can't tell me they couldn't have sent Leia home at the end of last episode and just focus on Obi, Vader and Reva. fukk sakes man :mjcry:

The shows aren’t as bad as people are pretending they are. Star Wars never had top tier writing or air tight plots. They’re entertaining and par for the course as far as Star Wars content goes. I’m not here to defend Star Wars or Disney, but what Star Wars movies are the standard that these are falling short of? Name a Star Wars movie and I can nitpick it to death if I want to.

This. This feels like here is where they had that long break to rewrite the series cause this PATH story jumps to being so important but they probably should have established it to the Inquistors and that Jedi they killed in episode 1.

Reva seemed shocked it was there and killed that dude in tunnel instead of interrogation in favor of Leia?

Oh and another thing, I just re-watched the Star Wars prequel trilogy and yeah, overall they were terrible. The Phantom Menace & Attack of the Clones were mediocre/trash. Revenge of the Sith was just OK/decent. The prequels had some of worst acting I've ever seen and the CGI was laughable.

The acting in the prequels was so bad/stale that this Obi-Wan series deserves an Oscar :mjlol:

Not even Samuel L. Jackson was able to be charismatic or compelling.

The relationship between Padme and Anakin was the most inorganic and unromantic sh!t that I've ever seen :mjlol:

Anakin was a huge creep as well :picard:

Anakin's mother's death scene was emotionless as f*ck :unimpressed:

CGI Yoda was bushes status. The CGI overall was horrendous. Yeah, I know it was the late '90s and '00s but still it's aged like spoiled milk. T2 from 1991 had better CGI

Hayden Christensen's acting improved dramatically from AOTC to ROTS but still he was just OK at best in Revenge of the Sith.

The dialogue was terrible. The writers for the prequels should be ashamed of themselves.

Finally, most of the fight scenes were mid/trash 😴

There's been some revisionist history going around in recent years about the prequels (especially due to Disney's Star Wars trilogy). Some people are saying that the prequels are "good", "underrated" and "not so bad". Nah, f*ck all of that - the prequels were GARBAGE.
Yea Prequels were trash. People remember the cool stuff which might have added up to maybe 30 minutes over three movies

I agree with most of this...but that Anakin vs. Obi Wan fight in Ep3 will always be classic. :wow:

And I don't really think the CGI is that bad. Not sure what you expect from the early 2000s. It was actually considered great CGI at the time.
Lord of the Rings visual effects were way better and they came out around the same time as the prequels.
The fight in Revenge of the Sith is the definition of bad CGI

The prequels are easy to glorify because the overarching story and the motivations and development from a lot of characters are very compelling. You can talk and read about the prequels and they actually sound like interesting and part of an intriguing story.

The problem is all of that gets brought down by the acting, dialogue and cinematography (way too much CGI). So hearing and talking about the prequels is a much better experience than actually watching the prequels.

You add nostalgia from a newer generation of fans -which a good number is more accostumed to rewatching clips of the parts they like instead of full films- and stans of SW just focusing on "what they were trying to tell us in these movies" and you get this new found respect and reverance for what truly were 1 good movie (RoTS) and 2 lackluster ones.

t-dot till they bury me
to do what almost every other SW property has tried to do the last 20 years, fix Episode 4 ANH.
ANH is the only thing that really makes no sense when you put everything together but they can't touch it directly because its sacred so they have been trying to fix it by padding stories around it.
I'm not into star wars that heavy. Seen Ep1-6 once

What's the issue with New Hope that needs to be fixed?

I just watched them recently too. This is all facts. And they were being shyt on back in the day as well. It was commonly accepted that the prequels were semi-trash outside of the epic fight scenes.

since the sequel trilogy came out however, the prequels have gotten more appreciation. Plus they didn’t mess up any legacy characters
