Vader is pretty much peak Dark Side with the powers right now, what with the constant pain and rage he feels. It's no surprise he'd be styling all over Kenobi at this point. (Notice the one-handed fighting style from the OT, Rogue One and in this...it's like the old kung-fu flicks where the villain was so disdainful he wouldn't even dodge, just smack up wannabes with one hand. Vader's prosthetics have him so stiff he can't move like he did pre-high ground...and he's STILL wiping the floor with people one handed.)
If anything, this is the situation that gets Kenobi to focus his chi/find acceptance with events that have passed and deal properly with Maul when he pulls up on him on Tattooine.

They have to show what pushed Leia to join the rebellion. In the opening sequence of A New Hope they established that Leia was not only a freedom fighter but she was one that annoyed Vader. Until then she always managed to escape him by the skin of her teeth. Maybe it was her belief in the force that protected her or maybe it was her diplomatic skills she acquired over time who knows. But Vader couldn't stand her and she knew Obi-Wans location on Tatooine which nobody was supposed to know about. She was the one that set it off in the OG trilogy.The little kid is a good actress and does her best with what she's given but I really didn't need her story to take 1/4 (or more) of each episode. Having her being the reason Obi leaves Tatooine was a smart move, but that mission could've ended in episode 2 and then we just focus on Kenobi which is by far the best and most compelling stuff.
They've been building to Qui Gon since the preview in episode 1 so we are for sure getting that. But he needs to have a breakthrough to get there and I wonder what is it gonna be

I was feeling pretty good about this show, then I came on here and got caught up with this thread, and .When I heard that this show was being made, I was solidly in the camp of "this sounds totally unnecessary, we don't need to know what Old Ben was doing"...but now that it's out I'm enjoying it
