seemed like a long pilot for a future series based on that ending
Probably would've been better off as a series. Netflix has continuously disappointed in the movie department.I watched it last night and it was a good movie but I wish there was more explanations and a better ending than a volcanic dust cloud... it's like damn they only scratched the surface of the world in this story... It was nicely shot tho, and forrest whittaker was good in it, he got killed off too damned easy on some bullshyt.
I thought the budget was fine, it was filmed in 4K i guess. I don't know if they did a post 4K conversion or not but it was a pretty movie.I knew y'all were gonna cry about the lack of budget
Watching now. 20 minutes in and I like it so far.How it ends is a pretty solid flick, its clearly meant to be low budget (they give a very interesting reason as to why they can't turn on the car radio), and it don't think it would be considered a spoiler to say they left room for a sequel.
A couple of gripes which I will save for later. The movie does pose a question. It presents a mirror and ask you what you would do in a situation. Then later, it shows a reflection, which you are led to believe made a different choice, making you rethink the original situation.
All in all, in spite of the movie's simplicities, I'd give it 4 out of 5.
Keep watchingWatching now. 20 minutes in and I like it so far.
*Edit*
This p*ssy upset cause Forest had burner on him
The only point of stopping at the friend's house is to s,et up something later which I said in my review but yes, it does seem to be a lot of world building for later movies, or whateverI thought the budget was fine, it was filmed in 4K i guess. I just think most of the scenes just ended with no impact
I thought most of those action shots in the trailer were going to be cumulation of some cool scenes but they were pretty much what we saw in the trailer so they were very quick.
You would have thought that some of those places they stopped at in the middle of the movie like the garage and/or the pool would have been interesting but nothing really happened there
Same for when they stopped at his friends house and they had to get by the Sheriff of the town, you would have thought there would have been some fukkery by the sheriff or their escort but nothing happened.
those scenes could have easily been full drawn out episodes in a 10 episode series i think

Wash that poo poo trash movie out with The Domestics. That would have made a decent netflix movie.
