Is Spartacus worth diving into brehs?

Absolutely. The first episode is terrible. Like make you want to stop watching bad. But by the end of s1 :wow:

Might be the biggest turn around in quality Ive ever seen from a show.

@Prodigal Syndicate described it perfecrly. First couple of episodes are whatever, then gets INCREDIBLE. One of my all time favorite shows :ohlawd:

Pour out a lil liquor for the Gladiating Gawd Andy Whitfield :mjcry:

Here’s a trick that’s been around for a while but may have passed you by: secret category codes added by Netflix engineers that can help you narrow down your on-demand video choices. From classic war movies to Brazilian dramas, here’s how to dig deeper into the Netflix library.

Whenever you dive into a genre on the Netflix website you get a URL that looks something like www.netflix.com/browse/genre/6839—and if you play around with that end number you can discover some hidden gems. How about visually striking films for ages 5-7? Or period pieces? We’ve found two unofficial lists online, here and here.

The Lost footage is being found!

Netflix issued a statement Thursday pledging to restore the ABC hit’s series finale after co-creator Damon Lindelof publicly backed fan outcry over a heavily edited version being streamed by the company.

Earlier today, EW reported the two-part Lost closer, “The End,” was missing about 18 minutes in various cuts. A lengthy Reddit thread chronicled the changes. Lindelof himself weighed in, saying he was “totally befuddled” by the decision and called for the full regular cut to be restored on the service.

It seems Netflix has heard our pleas and is telling fans to chill:

Then Lindelof issued this statement to EW about Netflix’s decision: “If governments moved with the same determined alacrity that Netflix just did, there would be worldwide harmony. This is awesome. Netflix is awesome. Ken Kratz is not awesome.”

Netflix typically streams whatever version of a show it receives from the rights-holder. The working suspicion is that Netflix received a version of the finale cut down for syndication. Earlier Lindelof wrote: “Something tells me that this isn’t Netflix’s fault … that it’s an honest mistake and something got miscommunicated … we continue to stand by it, but this is a fix that needs to happen, so at least people can love or hate it in its entirety.”

Now if we can just get Netflix to remove the end of the How I Met Your Mother finale…

A first glimpse of Netflix’s upcoming series “The Crown” was shown during the streaming service’s CES keynote on Wednesday morning.

The show is based on the award-winning play “The Audience” by Peter Morgan and tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II’s early reign. It also reunites Morgan with director Stephen Daldry and producer Andy Harries.

“‘The Crown’ is not only about the royal family but about an empire in decline, a world in disarray and the dawn of a new era,” Morgan said in a statement when the series was first announced. “I am beyond thrilled to be reunited with partners from film, theatre and television for this epic project and delighted to be working for the first time with Netflix.”

While Netflix has only picked up a first season of the show, they’ve said each season of “The Crown” would cover a decade of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. The first will focus on her early years, when she is faced with the prospect of leading the monarchy as well as forging a friendship with then Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

“One has to ask oneself, what is the purpose of the crown?” Churchill, played by John Lithgow, asks in the trailer. “What is the purpose of the monarchy? That decision is yours to make.”

The 10-episode season of “The Crown” will premiere later in 2016. Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Lithgow, Victoria Hamilton, Jared Harris, Vanessa Kirby and Dame Eileen Atkins star.
