This unprecedented run of music videos for one Nas album makes me ponder where was this drive when albums were going 5x plat. Just think in 99 when he chilled after Hate Me Now video, he could have easily pushed I Am to multi-platinum likedid with Hard Knock Life. Then
wouldn't have come out his face and attack the Gawd. Those days, Nas was dropping classics and just chilling, while these cornballs were all over the screen crowning themselves and whatnot.

But, in hindsight, there wouldn't have a been an Ether.

what makes it worse, the Hate me now video got banned by MTV right after its premeir cuz of the Jesus/puffy/stoute controversy. While the first video "nas is like" was the definition of street single. I am still went 2.5 platinum, but it couldn've done better.
Nas also got busy with Belly (which he co-wrote) and I think his mother got sick at the same time. Then He HAD TO go back to the studio to work on Nastradamus few months after that.
