The song wouldn't be the same without R. Kelly on it he adds so much flavour to the song so re-releasing with someone else would be a bit pointless. R. Kelly is highly questionable character but his talent is undeniable and at this point it clear his bad behaviour is just a reflection of the industry. Also most of the industry knew what Kells was even back then but it didn't seem to stop anyone wanting to work with him right up until that surviving R. Kelly documentary.
fukk R Kelly.

Not saying they should delete the original, but it's obvious Nas don't want anything to do with the song because of R. Kelly involvement. And rightfully so. With that being the reality, I'm just saying they could have done a version with an updated hook for the 25 Year IWW instead of ignoring it and keeping it buried. It will never happen anyway.

Wouldn’t be the same at all. R Kelly’s talent singing wise can’t be denied

This nikka got to the point he just calls Nas the GOAT. lol.

He’s VERY favorable to I Am Nas as a lyricist as well. His fav Nas track so far is Take It In Blood tho.

I Am was critically, commercially, and culturally successful in real time. If he never dropped Nastradamus and released a video for You Won’t See Me Tonight, 99 would be looked at as one of Nas’s finest years.

I remember it clear is day. Streets was fukkin wit that album heavy. Funny story. I brought it to school on release cause that’s what I used to do when dope albums dropped I used to bring em with my CD Player. I had some hookups so I used to get certain albums before release date. nikkas in the class was passing my CD around checking out the booklet with the lyrics and the track listing. The teacher peeped and grabbed the CD case and started reading off the song titles out loud to the class. When he got to Dr Knockboot I legitimate had the :snoop: face in real life and we all laughed. lol.

The rewriting of history of I am is completely done intentionally in my opinion. It’s done to not give Nas the 3 peat universally. They know they can’t hate on illmatic and it was written because both are flawless. I am is still a classic, but it had maybe 2 records that people could cherry pick on that weren’t strong. The other records are super dope/classic and in real time that album was major in the streets and commercially. Yes, you won’t see me tonight should have had video/push.

I was listening to this song last night before I even saw this post. Nobody ever brings it up, but it's one of the best songs on the album. I always loved Nas' second verse. :ahh:
