Nas has a lot of great works so it would be nice if he showed love to those as well. It was Written is also one of the best hip-hop albums of all time and I think it deserves its flowers as well. Stillmatic as well which was an album to show that Nas still got it and that he ain't one to be underestimated and fukked with even if he has grown past Ether still have great tracks that he can celebrate One Mic, You're da Man, etc. Life is Good as well cause not many mainstream/semi-mainstream artists were putting out an album like that at the time.

But now that he’s got both the Kings Disease and Magic series under his belt and they were so well received I don’t see him going back to Illmatic-only tours any time soon. When I saw him on the Wu tour the new material got great response and the Madison Square Garden Kings Disease show was a huge success.

He has some orchestra shows coming up this summer that is only illmatic I believe. But overall I think you are right

Nas personally does show love to all of his work. Illmatic is celebrated by fans worldwide bc it is considered the BEST HH ALBUM OF ALL TIME! Illmatic does not have to be pushed to the back for his other artistic work to shine!

The [good] issue with Nas is he has fans from every generation. Personally, IWW made me a fan, didn't listen to Illmatic until years later. So for the 1996+ fans the illmatic celebrations kinda overshadow (some could say deservedly so) the rest of his catalog :hubie:

I don't know if it was posted but NaS is doing a 30th Anniversary "ILLmatic" show in the DMV in July. It will be with the National Symphony Orchestra. As for NaS celebrating other albums. I think that's really up to him. He should do more anniversary concerts for his other anniversaries too. "I Am" just turned 25. "God's Son" will be 25 in 3 years. "Streets Disciple" is turning 20 this year. But there is no way he is not celebrating "ILLmatic", even if he's tired of it. He will have to do 30th, 40th, 50th Anniversaries. It's that impactful.

Hes doing a couple of shows that are billed specifcally as Illmatic tribute shows but you know hes tired of only celebrating Illmatic and hes said as much. Also as scary as this sounds but time feels like it goes by quicker when you're older and those 5 years come by a lot for them anniversaries and hes probably like "Yo I just did everything for this a couple of years ago"

Thing is Ive also said he should celebrate the other albums. People rock with it was writtena and stillmatic, do something with that. I was advocating hard for them to drop a proper double album version of the original I am for the 25th annversary on DSPs and vinyl and not just the random one we got in November.
