In an all time list in not a personal one? I don’t even think there’s an argument. He HAS to be in the top 10. Same way Jay has to.

To people in our demographic (men in early 30s or older) sure. But I'm not convinced either are ranked high by most people in their 20s right now. And that's fine, I don't really care lol, each generation is going to change. There was a time where it felt like the consensus was Wayne/Jay/Kanye to people, then it shifted to Drake/Cole/Kendrick, then Future got in the mix, then others. At this point Jay and Nas are so divorced from what a lot of young people fukk with that I'm not shocked they aren't mentioned as much now. At some point in the 00s the same thing happened to Rakim/Kane/KRS/etc.

We got multiple generations of kids stacked on top of each other who never lived at a point where Nas was on the radio, had a hit, or any type of "moment" they noticed. Jay is at that point with at least one generation now too. Kids weren't bumping Story Of OJ in 2017, they were playing Fortnite and bumping XXXTentacion lol. In that Revolt vid the guy defending Nas is in his late 30s or early 40s. The other chick is younger, I'm not expecting her to have Nas in her top 10. And Trina from the south so I'd expect her to have southern rappers in her top ten

Number one. This is all assumption because I know PLENTY of people who are in their 20s who have these cats in their top lists. Number 2. I clearly discerned personal top lists from all time lists. There’s a big difference. Number 3. What u said about her age(she isn’t that young) would make sense if she didn’t have physical proof dating back 10 years of her dikkriding Nas in the past. Also if she wasn’t putting another cat HIS age up against him comparing them. U can say the same for Symba. U can look this up urself. As far as Trina being from the south. That’s no excuse either. Not only has she shown she held Nas in high regard in the past. Nas just gave her a shot at something big and she could’ve atleast had the decency to not let them disrespect the man in front of her. The people who wrote for her, such as Ross and Trick Daddy all hold Nas in high regard. Cats like Juicy J and Scarface have Nas on their top lists. Young cats like Kodak Black who is from the same city as her and about 25 years younger has Nas in his top lists. Bottom line is there is no excuse for the fukk shyt.

You're from NY right? I would expect young people in NY might have more interest in Nas since they're from the city but let's be honest. Do you think on average, 20 year olds are listening to Nas? They aren't, at least not to any major level. You can look at streaming numbers to verify that. Look at the streaming numbers for Wayne, Kanye, Jay etc and it's a huge difference. We don't need anecdotal evidence when we can pull up numbers.

My point is simply that I don't expect certain people to have Nas or [insert east coast rapper] in their top ten. Younger people and women, mainly. And I expect southern people to have different opinions on east/west coast rappers than we do. Sure you named three southern rappers who hold Nas in high regard but we also know there are southern people who don't fukk with Nas OR Jay. They got their own shyt and would prob find our top tens disrespectful if we don't put a southern rapper in there.

Hell I'm not even sure young people even give a shyt about the "top ten" concept. They just have artists they fukk with heavily and it's basically...Drake, Durk, Baby, Future, 21, etc. Where do Nas and Jay fit in that shyt?

My point is none of this applies to the people we are discussing right now. At all. And it’s not about people being in someone’s personal top list. It was about the blatant disrespect. Again. We aren’t speaking on people who mad young and on some other shyt. These are people who have a history of dikkriding Nas in the past. Dismissing a nikka’s accomplishments and all kinda shyt have absolutely nothing to do with personal preference. It’s ignorance and hate.

Shoutouts to Hit-Boy for being nominated for Producer Of The Year (Non-classic) at the 2024 Grammy Awards! KD3, Magic 2 and Magic 3 were listed amongst his work that contributed to his nomination!
I haven't seen the nominations yet but KD3 should be on there. If not it's criminal
