My favorite era from Nas is between Illmatic and IWW. His flow was getting super buttery and he was still insanely technical. IWW is his peak for lyricism, but the pre-Steve Stoute work is that prime IWW flow with the Illmatic NY hardcore vibe.

Yeah, I don't see Nas compromising the quality of any record with a feature just for sales. It was easy identifying the weakest tracks on KD and KD2; they were always the features, so they cut them out.

KD they went with a lot of newer artists, KD2 was a mixed bag, KD3 had none and flowed better. Quality will stand the rest of time...hell Magic only had one feature lol
