Lost Tapes 3 (anticipation thread) incoming...or we might get some anniversary albums outside of illmatic finally

Might get an It Was Written 25th Anniversary release off this. Sony despite dropping the ball with him at the end and him having some label issues did value Nas legacy

Interesting they still working with UMG, good for the Dave East relationship as hes in Def Jam. Could help get those IWW, I am, Stillmatic, God Son, SD vaults off this for Lost Tapes 3 and 4 but we'll see


They actually had a distribution deal with Sony/RED when Mass Appeal formed in 2013 and there was that Mass Appeal confirmatin never dropped. Might still come out as its got the Nas/Mac Miller/Boldy James track

I hope that means it means he can easily access both his Def Jam and Sony vaults if he chooses to do more Lost Tapes. I was hoping for that when Mass Appeal signed their first distribution deal with Sony/RED back in 2013-2014

I hope so as well. They're also still distributors for Mass Appeal India.

It wasn’t a brick it debuted at the same position (10) as the previous Lost Tapes SEVENTEEN YEARS later

Sounds like a great opportunity for Nas and Mass Appeal.

Y’all know I’ve been one of the most outspoken Nas fans when it’s comes to his Sony Lost Tapes. I’ve been dying to hear any and all of that material for over 15 years. However, I’ll a little pessimistic about getting that music. It seems like he’d have all the access he needs but the man said that the music should stay lost. I think we might get some, maybe, but as far as Nas emptying the vaults... I don’t think so.

Now don’t get me wrong. I still want it but the material could sound really dated next to his new stuff. I don’t know if Nas still leaks stuff and mixtapes seems to be dead but I’m the pessimist on this. Don’t flame me too bad for the thoughts.

That's why it could be the "bucket list" project he talked about. I dont see any other artist who would fit the bill.
He said that it's coming this year so we'll find out soon.
