I think it has to do with the songs that didn't make the album (That is what made the Lost Tapes so good). If it weren't for bootlegging and that original album came out :ohhh::wow::blessed:.

Dude probably got classic songs he forgot about. :mindblown:

He needs to get his flowers while he is still here.
But in real time both the bootleg AND retail version got crazy love. That’s the funny part.

There is some great remixes out there.

Hate Me Now, We Will Survive, You Won't See Me Tonight are better than the OG's.

There was a great blend using Godfather Don and 45 King beats as well, somebody link that shyt.

Here's two of the tracks off it...

The released version of hate me now way more epic the way it is.

The hate I Am gets is pure retroactive bullshyt. If nikkas wanna know how history can be rewritten for an artist. Check this album right here. Cause the narrative switched crazy every since Takeover came out.
Jay-z is the king of rewriting history. Hot-97 was right there helping pushing that narrative. That's why I never blamed Nas for lashing out at them. They was dikkriding Jay crazy at the time:scust:

Its crazy how in 99 the label freaked out when I am leaked and Nas had to abandon his plans but fast forward to 2010 and Kanye damn near leaked his entire MBDTF album to gain buzz and that shyt worked
That’s because it was a new problem and the label was scared and didn’t know how to tackle it.

Pretty wild that Chuck D was so right about this, 20+ years ago. And even more wild that 20+ years removed from his major label album being impacted by leaks, his independent album (on his own label) won a Grammy. Sony/Columbia could have said "fukk it" and released I Am with all the leaks, plus the new songs, and it would have still sold 400k+.All fire sharing did was take control away from major labels and give smaller artists an easier ability to build fanbases. Since then we've slowly seen the control swing back in artist's favor. Labels aren't dead yet of course but clearly the independent game is bigger than ever.

The narrative change is definitely true. I remember Joe Budden saying here that Nas 3 run album was incredible and loved I Am.

Lol ya'll gotta stop
I Am deservedly gets shytted on, that album is complete mid outside 4 songs.

The original double disc version would've been very good however.

Them leaks fukked up Nas's career :snoop:
