There is this misconception lately that some how nas cant spit like he used to. In my opinion nas has switched up his format but still kept it lyrical. Don't get It twisted if nas wanted to get on his super lyrical shi, he would go back to nasty nas real quick. On kings disease nas set out to make a great album sonically while still keeping it lyrical. He achieved both.
