With artists such as Lupe, Nas, Common or any MC whose subject matter skews heavily towards outlining, describing, and conveying the greater African American experience yes.
Do you realize that Nas fanbase is full of white people ? It's part of his legacy to be able to touch people around the world from all kind of social backgrounds, nationalities or ethnicities...
That's why he's studied in prestigious schools and all.

And Surreal was talking about how the music sounds not even the subject matter.

Of course its full of white people. Nas makes an excellent variety of music that all can rock with but I GUARANTEE them same white people mostly skipped Untitled & Distant Relatives which is why he called them out on the song Testify.

I don't skip Untitled and Distant Relatives.:yeshrug:
And I'm sure a ton of white people were in attendance during the DR tour.:manny:

And like you can see in this thread I'm a white dude from France and a big fan of Lupe while Surreal who is black doesn't seem to like him, yet as you said he's very pro-black and the subject matter is everywhere in his music.

It's not as simple as you make it out to be, you can't just assume than white people opinions on artists like Nas, Common or Lupe aren't relevant because of their skin color.
