There was not one verse on the song that got remotely “a lil sloppy.” Why do people always feel the need to be shady & pick apart a moment that was 100% positive? Everyone flowed well and their verses/flow matched the tempo of the beat switches.
Nas the Goat.. I judge him by that standard.
Solid verse no more no less.

That’s the problem Nas doesn’t always need to be judged by a standard that others place upon him. Absolutely solid verses expressing the message of solidarity was what the message in the song was all about no more no less.

I'm sorry my man. I'll always judge him by that standard.
No one is changing my mind on that.. Even GOATS aren't
above critique. Solid verse tho.

In other news I'm ready for a new project from Esco. I'm excited to see what he has with hitboy and others.

Even my "hater" ass had nice issue with the verse lmao. Felt like he was batting first and setting the bases for everyone else. It was cool.

U damn right I am.. I just heard his Jhene Aiko feature.. That's a flawless verse right there. Son has plenty of that left in him. What do u want from me I went back and called the verse solid lol

I mean...did you hear Hov on Jay Elect's album? He's still rapping at a GOAT tier level. Black Thought, outside of his verse on this song, has rapped on a GOAT tier level for the last few years. We don't really have a lot of material to judge (Lost Tapes 2 is largely older material, Nasir was rushed) but overall I wouldn't say Nas is rapping on a GOAT tier level right now. Like I said I'm not sure that even matters given we haven't gotten a true, full length album from him since 2012 so judging it now isn't 100% fair. Especially in comparison to Hov and Black Thought, who have released far more new material (444, A Written Testimony, Streams Of Thought 1-2, And Then You Kill Your Cousin, multiple noteworthy guest verses) over the last 5-6 years.

I normally don't expect older rappers to be great. Ghost is in my top 3 yet if I listen to a new Ghost album I know the raps probably won't be GOAT level...nor would I expect them to. Hov and Black Thought are kinda the only guys defying that right now. Not just in terms of raps...but flows. They sound agile as fukk on the mic still. I don't understand it.
