Ether to those celebrating that statement about people under 30 not being able to list three Nas songs. All of his albums except Nasir are gold and platinum.
:heh: its a lot dumbass nikkaz on this board. Nas is literally one of the most accomplished hip hop artists ever. Not many artists have his longevity nor have 10 plat or gold albums:mjlol:. Not to mention the Firm QB Finest DR LT1&2 albums:dead:

Nas having the kind of longevity he's had for as long as he has without big hits is crazy. At this point he's only really rivaled by LL, Jay, and Eminem.

I can believe it. Nas never depended on hit records to sell albums, but still amassed double platinum, platinum, and gold albums without them. Meanwhile, other artists struggled to sell albums without having massive #1 hits or Top 10 records.

Life Is Good still found it's way in the Top 10 or so highest selling Hip Hop albums of 2012 without having hit songs. To put in perspective, Rick Ross only went Gold with GFID the same year and had singles featuring Usher and Drake.

Nas predates Eminem. Em in no way shape form or fashion can rival Nas.

Its LL, Jay, Dr Dre, and Nas

Edit- Snoop Dogg is also debatable

I listed Em because all of his albums except one are all platinum or gold if I'm not mistaken.

Snoop Dogg hasn't had a gold or platinum album since Ego Trippin.

I forgot Dre. There's also Kast and I think Wayne.

True statement. It just shows the lack of support he gets from hip hop media today. That album is a gem. Is super impressive that his albums have sold like this over his career and he has very rarely chased any sound or collaborated with who is 'hot' at the time. He has done it his way.

Nas predates Wayne. I only take off Outkast because their basically (shudders to admit) defunct:mjcry:

Basically from 94-2020 there are only 3-4 MC’s who are still commercially viable and relevant within the culture.

Nas
Jay-Z
Dr. Dre

Outkast hasn’t released an album since 2006, and if you want to count Idelwild as only a soundtrack then its been 2003. Eminem wasn’t out commercially in 94. Neither was Wayne. Your right about Snoop he’s fallen off commercially but he’s still somewhat relevant within the culture, but I think Snoop just don’t give a fukk to put some real work in lol.

Dr Dre is more of a producer than a rapper, but he put out Compton in 2015 and it went Gold and proved he was still commercially and culturally relevant. If announced an album tomorrow it would still be greatly anticipated.

This is the crazy part. nikkas act like Nas is just some underground artist and try to deny his greatness or criticize his choices. I’m like muthafukka his choices is the reason we still talking bout him in 2020. Good or bad. And the reason the nikka got like 10-11 plaques to his name.

I wish Nas got the props that he deserves and I'm certain that in life or in death he will. I am grateful for his music and what it means to me so if muthafukkas don't appreciate his body of work then to hell with them. Real talk!

Nas gets props from The Hip Hop community which i’m sure he appreciates more than the bullshyt fake love the wider industry would bestow.

Diddy called him the God MC and presented him with the Icon award. The Source named him the second greatest lyricist of all time behind Rakim. Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Lupe Fiasco, and any younger rapper worth their salt all praise him as an inspiration
