I posted this in the other thread, but I thought this is the most appropriate place to post my review of the Powernomics concert.
The Gawd kilt it tonight.
But first, let me give you the main event line up.
1. Comedian Opener (20 Minutes) - At this show it was Hannibal Buress. In Chicago, it was Dave Chappelle. Hannibal was very funny actually.
2. Nas (30 Minutes)
3. L-Boogie (45 Minutes)
4. Nas (30 minutes)
5. Nas and L-Boogie perform If I ruled the world.
If you are a Nas fan, a 90s Hip-Hop fan or just a fan of Good Hip-Hop, you need to see this show. The last time I saw Nas in a full Concert was at Rock The Bells concert in 2012. I thought his show was okay, but not as good as other performers like Busta, Meth &Red, Common. I felt like his energy and breath control was not up to par with the best performers.
To my pleasant surprise, I guess he has been working on his stage craft the last five years.
His live performance is on another level now.
I'd put this Powernomics concert performance on par with the best live performers and I've seen them all. Think DMX in 99 or Busta at any time period.
He damn near had to ressurect the crowd after Lauryn's dubious performance. It hurts me to the bone to say this, but if you go to the show, you may want to skip L-Boogies entire set. Go get something to eat or take a long smoke break.
Not only is he fresh, focused and energized, but it looks like Nas is having just as good a time on stage as we were having in the audience.
I'm not even being hyperbolic.check this shyt out if you have a chance.
