I would play it, Konami gives sony the rights to let kojima finish the game and tell the story how he wants
Konami would probably rather burn all traces of the IP before they let Kojima touch it again. Especially if it paints them in an even worse light if its really good. Not really the same situation as Justice league where Warner Bros could just use Whedon as a scapegoat for why the movie was terrible.

To be fair getting Keifer Sutherland was a really bad move. Since when is snake a mostly silent protagonist? I’d honestly prefer if bluepoint remade it than kojima and get David Hayter back.
