Dude, T'Challa inspired thousands of black children if not millions. To you, him playing the role while suffering from colon cancer may have been a passive, reactionary performance, but it was powerful enough to leave a lasting impact on people of all ages. There WILL BE NO BETTER T'Challa than Chadwick Boseman, just like despite Joaquin Phoenix winning an award for Joker, there will BE NO BETTER JOKER than Heath Ledger.

The Joker still made $1,000,000,000, though. I have stated already that the character is important, so there is not a need to rehash what he means to the kids. I have not stated that is performance is unimpressive either. I believe that there are plenty other actors who are able to impress in the role, too, and how are you saying that it is important for the kids but not wanting them to have another big screen version of the property?

Although shorter...there is one actor who hasnt been in a comic book franchise that is the closest to Boseman in terms of acting, screen presence, power...

Like Boseman he was a Denzel disciple.

Unfortunately that actor has been cancelled.. So Marvel would never consider him.

There are way more actors than Nate Parker who are able to play Black Panther effectively. Stop

Wish I had a bigger acting sample from Kofi Siriboe since i only know him from Queen Sugar playing a very specific character, but he has the "appeal" marvel could make into a star (of course he could bulk for the role)

It's most likely gonna be a recasting.

If you read the Coogler article, he already has been working on the script for over a year now without any knowledge about Chadwick's health. He would probably have to re-write the entire thing from scratch and change the direction completely to accommodate Shuri taking the throne. It's obviously easier and more practical to take the script with the direction and goal you already had set in place and just recast the lead, instead of just wiping the whole thing out and being forced to write an entirely different narrative

There are only two options.

Recast or pass the mantle to Shuri.

In the comics, yes there have been PAST Black Panthers but in the continuity there have been two present BP’s and thats T’Challa and Shuri.

T’Challa as a CHARACTER is extremely important, and like Batman, Superman, etc. he is open to different actors and interpretations. It would do a disservice to the character and mythos simply create another character out of thin air and give him a back story not steeped in any Marvel tradition or lore. That would be terrible.
I agree with everything you said, but it's just a case of how Shuri can become BP. The movies have set precedents. Chief among them is that the option of ritual combat is open to challengers to the throne. Am I supposed to believe M'Baku is losing to Shuri in ritual combat? Nakia, yeah, maybe. Unless they go the route of M'Baku not even presenting a challenge out of respect, but I wouldn't buy that based on his character

Kids understand death. It’s heartbreaking, yes, but If they see Chadwick Boseman in a flashback and then hear of Tchalla’s death perhaps over the MCU logo and it’s all handled solemnly, kids have an adjustment period. You bring in some random dude and say “this is T’Challa” after the kids have already gotten used to Chadwick Boseman, they can easily lose interest or get upset.

I don’t like when they make dead computer generated actors talk (like Peter Cushing in Rogue One) but a silent depiction of him with the ancestors passing the torch to the new Black Panther would have a huge impact, especially if the new actor fits.

True but T'Challa's not gay. I can see him playing Aqualad though. Aqualad is gay af.

ryan coogler just told you that chadwick pretty much save the script with his ideas. ryan did not know where to take this movie, this was a collaboration with chad, wesley and ryan and nate moore could make a killer bp2 movie because wes has ideas, without him,bp2 will be a hot mess.. nobody wants to see a female black panther
moving this post here as i don't want to derail the RIP thread...

this whole post is a mess, not sure how or why you're conflating help with writing or ideas with casting wesley as BP :what:

:mjlol:Do the "comicbook purists" advocating for Shuri to take over realize that Capt America also took over as Black Panther in the comics.

I can see Shuri taking over in part 2 and stepping down in Part 3 or 4. She has been shown to be bold and iconoclastic enough to take the mantle. I wouldn't mind seeing T'Challa as a mentor to other BP's. I don't want that role re-casted tbh
