Cant you have a black panther that aint T’Challa? Theres a lot of talented actors but replacing Chadwick just dont sit right....

Considering the books only focus on T'Challa, with rare exception being when Shuri took on the mantle for a moment, I'd say no. Unless done from another time period, which would only be loosely connected to the current timeframe of the rest of the MCU, so that seems moot.

All the more reason I say a soft reboot is probably best route for entire MCU. They don't have to replace everyone, but just make it that the current storylines are complete after these last few films drop. Perhaps have a loose connection by mentioning the multi-verse and tying in things that have happened thru that, but otherwise, I feel that'd be the best route in handling it. Don't have to retell everyone's story over either, just different stories that aren't so connected to previous films. It makes even more sense when you think about them including the X-men and mutants into their universe without them having existed the whole time.

Anyone who takes up the mantle of Chadwick Boseman should look similar, should remain dignified throughout, portraying a powerful warrior with some weaknesses but a strong king.

I don’t see anyone doing that but Chadwick Boseman.

And homage would certainly have to be paid to Chadwick Boseman in that we see him in the film.

Maybe the movie should start with the last scene of Black Panther where the kid approaches him on the basketball court.

Then we see the news of TChalla’s untimely death at a young age, but how much he was able to accomplish for the inner city.

Perhaps a black man who isn’t Wakandan is allowed to attend TChalla’s memorial service (maybe Shuri fell in love in the US)

And he ends up saving Shuri’s life. Now there’s a power vacuum. Mbaku tries to keep things under control, but Wakanda has become divided. Which allows the villain, whoever it is, to exploit the situation. Eventually things get so bad that Bast visits the black protagonist and provides him with the powers of the Black Panther, thought to be gone forever after Killmonger burned down the source and the last bit was given to TChalla. When he enters the realm of his ancestors (we notice former slaves in this realm although it’s not harped upon and they stand next to kings), he suddenly sees TChalla (digitally rendered) who doesn’t say a word, but passes the mantle on to the new Black Panther with a smile. The new Black Panther, with the help of Mbaku, Shuri, Okoye, and Nakia unite Wakanda against the villain and defeat him. A monument is built to TChalla and when the elders decide on MBaku as the next ruler of Wakanda, he relinquishes the throne, giving it to the Black Panther chosen by Bast and TChalla. :obama:

I honestly think this idea of mine would be the most satisfying for the general audience.

Comic book purists may insist on TChalla, but it was the combination of Chadwick Boseman and Tchalla that made Black Panther what it was.

if they decide to write out T'Challa and have some other character taker over being the black panther i just hope they don't do a weak ass off screen death with T'challa let the character go out of The MCU powerful and in his full glory in total bad A+ action set piece that ends in a self sacrifice by T'challa protecting the defenseless of Wakanda or Africa then going into a big grand beautiful funeral ceremony for T'challa/Chadwick then go into the story of black panther 2

if they decide to write out T'Challa out of The MCU for now that's the best way to do it with respect, power, and grace the character represents and would make the first 25 - 30 minutes of black panther 2 epic as hell right of the rip

To a degree, I think that could be a good way to do it. However, I don't see how it'd be possible considering that there's no other footage shot have Chad as BP presenting that at all. Also, could be possibly viewed negatively by his family.

Man...so Coogler wasnt even really prepped for this...

He's truly in a pressure situation on what to do. He's gotta start casting searches now or overhaul the script to fit another character.

I think Feige just makes him recast.

You don't need footage of Chad to have an on-screen death, you could have him die in his costume if need be

I think you have to let the character die and let someone else be black panther.

Unfortunately I think there is a chance that the lil sister is going to be the Black Panther.
