However, I think word was that he thought he could beat the cancer again and get back in shape for the movie. It took a turn for the worst
I can’t knock his choice. And he probably stayed working just to feel normal. And he didn’t want to be treated differently.
It’s just sad how he left everyone hanging. No last wishes, no nothing. Imagine you’re Coogler and you’re in the middle of putting the finishing touches on a script, you get all call out of the blue and you find out the star of the movie is dead.
That’s why I give all of them credit for making this in the first place.

He was already mad at T'Cholo (Namor) now we're gonna hear an entire broadcast on this.
They're not sidekicks anymore(Fury was only a sidekick in CM iirc). All are going to be leading their own films and series now. I say people should wait and see how these characters are going to be developed now that they are finally getting a chance to lead and have the main star treatment instead of decrying "but they aren't good enough" and tossing them aside. I say this as someone who also prefers T'Challa over them.
Most people didn't fukk with Steve or Thor right off the bat. It took a few projects for those characters to click.
I still don't understand people arguing about Shuri being the next BP. It's a monarchy with lines of succession. T'Challa passes and Shuri takes up the mantle like Prince T'Challa did when he was an established BP while T'Chaka was still king but too old to panther around and it seems rule defaulted back to Queen Ramonda w/ T'Challa gone from the trailers. Regardless of what happens in the comics or not- that's what was established in the first film. She would only lose the title through challenge or death. And it's obvious that it's Shuri's suit she made for herself at least b/c the mask design matches her traditional facepaint.
So then the question becomes does she remain the Black Panther? I keep going back to the teaser and The Queen saying 'my entire family is gone.' Is mourning T'Challa/Chadwick & Shuri in the same film too much or does having an in film loss add to the weight of the mourning undercurrent they're building? And in that teaser too, I know there's stunt doubles & CGI but that suit at the teaser end looks like a bigger frame than the one at the end of the new trailer.
Because they're putting Shuri way out front on this marketing but still being coy about her being the new Black Panther for some reason, despite it being blatant that it's a suit designed and built by and for Shuri, which has me wondering if there's more than one in the film. I can’t bring myself to care. Black Panther is and always will be T’Challa for me and it is what it is.
I might take my daughter to see it if she really wants to go but other than that I have no desire to see this film
This is exactly where I'm at except I don't have any kids so I have zero reason to see this film.

Both rumors could be true. Movie was edited to add extra footage after leaks revealed with CGI T'Challa returning for 30 min. If that's true, I'll watch, otherwise, pass.
Maybe that's why the movie is nearly 3 hours. They invested too much money to throw it away for another feminist propaganda after several chick flicks were made: Wandavision, Black Widow, She Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, Iron heart, The Marvels etc....
