The "entire" cast? :jbhmm:

Hopefully they are able to shoot in more real locations this time and not just confined to the ATL studios. Marvel needs to provide Coogler and his team with the A-Team fight/stunt team/VFX teams. I think filming Infinity War and Black Panther at the same time kind of hurt the movie in those areas.

If you had that real world aesthetic mixed in with visuals it would have been even more amazing. They have to shoot on real locations because unlike with Thor, GOTG, and IW.....we have an idea what Africa looks like. So when it looks fake or CGI we can tell.

Go as hard as the concept art.

Especially since you've got authentic costumes, actors really selling the part, etc. etc. Put it in real locations with that gritty feel to it then it'll be next level.

If they start filming in real locations and upgrading the CGI I know we're in for an absolute masterpiece.

I agree more real locations with CGI touchups, some of scenes did not need to be green screened like that and look real bad in certain parts like. For example when T'Challa saw his Dad the second time in the ancestral plane and when he's on the cliff with Nakia.

Its amazing what this movie accomplished with being filmed mostly in Atlanta, but damn there were some missed opportunities.

Im not sure they can do "more of the same" with the sequel.

I also hope the movie has a longer production. BP had a short production and filmed mostly in one place and didn't even have Coogler in S.Korea.

After all this Marvel should not treat the sequel like any other property. Time to really let loose for the sequel. Give it the time it needs

I got a feeling BP2 will be shot in a more urban environment. Wakanda probably wont be as prominent.

All true and they should take their time making the movie. Do not rush it out. As much as I like Coogler's Black Panther movie, I hope they don't downplay T'Challa's fighting like in his first movie had him kind of struggling with regular dudes in the casino scenes. While his females counterparts were kicking butt flawlessly there. I mean in CW you got BP going toe to toe with Cap and Buck but in his own movie he's struggling, it kind of messes up the continuity of the character in the MCU by doing that. I hope they fix this for part 2.

He didn't struggle with anyone in the casino. He just didn't get as much hand to hand combat.

I also think T'Challa suffered most from the editing. When they chopped the movie down I'm sure they shortened a lot of his action scenes in service of story.

I think they can give others shine in the sequel while still letting BP have his.

If struggled with anyone it was the Wakandans. He should have had a hand to hand session where he was whooping everybody's ass. Instead of just relying on his suit/powers.

Yea, and also i don't care what Fiege or Iger said about the supposed big budget, the movie still felt slighted in that regard. The cgi everyone has talked about ad nauseam (esp in comparison to Infinity War) but even things like the casino fight should've dedicated a few beats to T'Challa wrecking guys like some ish outta the Equalizer flicks or the first Kingsmen movie. Even if Chad don't know MMA like that, movie framework magic can do the heavy lifting like it did with Denzel and those british cacs.

Or Lupita/Nakia's character having those upgraded xena things at the end but we didn't get to see them really wow us, compared to the originals.. that were pretty much just stage props anyway. Hell, i don't think ppl would've complained as much about that 3rd act if there'd been more sauce to the 'big battle' action, bc you could sorta tell everyone was outta there element.. from the actors/actresses to Coogler with how it was mapped out.

I think at the very least BP 2 will have cgi closer to what we saw in Infinity War (no doubt they've heard the criticism loud and clear). Hopefully they'll also make it more fun to see T'Challa fight outside of the suit (w/o having to strip him of his powers) and they'll map things out better next time if there's another big battle/set piece

I think this is where budget, production time and CGI kept that final battle from being great.

They didn't seem to have the time to really map out an epic big battle scene. Probably leading to more 2nd unit shooting the big battle since it feels distinctly different from Coogler's previous fights. Listening to commentaries and quotes from production people hint that most of the battles in this movie were much longer. Just got cut down due to run time. I also think they thought CGI could make up for the 3rd act, but unfortunately it just wasn't elite stuff like in Infinity War (I'm sure the top dawgs were on that one)

Its sounds crazy but Black Panther deserves that Infinity War type treatment. It needs that 2hr 30+ run time and it needs that production time like the Russos got. They got like 6 months to work Infinity War. BP had like 3.

Like I mentioned if you wanted to get creative around the budget....you could have simply had T'Challa suit lose his kinetic energy power early in the 3rd act and then just start wiping people out in one long take on some Oldboy shyt.

I thought Coogler shot the casino scene himself?
