Expectations started to lower when Angela B said they was already on their 5th or 6th version of the script. Amongst other things.
Im still trying to figure out how making a lesser movie is honoring Boseman.

And I still think Coogler is talented enough to make somethng great out of this. However, was all this extra stress, multiple rewrites, forcing Wright into a role she never asked for really what Boseman would have wanted?

Namor, one of the first 3 superheroes created by Marvel and arguably Black Panther's greatest enemy, finally debuts in the MCU without T'Challa. This shyt is beyond fukked up.

Movie is going to be trash bro. Breaks my heart but a BP movie without T’Challa is destined for failure

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
That makes no sense. T’Challa wasn’t even that old to have a 20 year old secret son.

He could’ve been 13 during the first BP. They never went deep into T’Challa’s or Nakia’s personal life. For all we know she never told him. Then 5 years passed after the snap. And you can add another 2 or 3 years after that.

nakia had a son with t'challa and never told him.

nakia lives outside of wakanda. the son could also be living outside of wakanda.

kid could be around 20.

Let's say this is true. This makes the Nakia character look extra shady. You have the son of a king and you didn't tell him? Despite her and him getting together at the end of the first movie.

:francis:

And seeing how she was sent on spy missions, her taking 9 months out to have a baby would be clearly obvious to everyone.

Now what I could believe is let's say when T'Challa was living in the states (he did in the comic) when he went to college, he met a woman and she had a child by him unbeknownst to him. Those timelines would fit. Maybe she hears of his passing and chooses that time to come forward.

T'Challa was pawging during his college days...

Would Marvel dare have a mixed race son of T'Challa come for the crown

I think this might be the one movie that they want to get right.

You would think so.

But how do you get a movie right without its main character? It's like doing an Ironman movie and instead of Tony Stark being the lead, he dies off screen and Pepper Potts takes over for him as Ironman in her suit from Endgame.

Can you imagine the uproar if that happened.

retcon that she told him after the end of the first movie.

i know you americans work yourself to death but in advanced nations people have better work/life balance

could be anyone but that would work. mirror image to killmonger turns up and claims the throne.

Breh I get it. But the first movie wasn’t just about T’Challa. There were several social issuers and subplots, that they tackled in that movie. T’Challa didn’t even get a origin story. I think Wakanda as a whole is bigger than Black Panther. I’m not just speaking on the comics. Most people don’t read or have never read the comics. The word Wakanda rings out more than T’Challa. The diehards are going to feel some type of way no matter what. But as long as the make a good movie and set Wakanda up to be a force in the MCU going forward, then I’m good.

It’s been over 4 years since the last movie dropped. Times have changed. They won’t capture the magic of the fist one, but I can’t imagine them not doing this movie justice to honor Boseman. And Ryan Coogler hasn’t let us down yet.
