They could change it completely. A lot of the time, she breaks news or one of the earliest, and then when it changes, people come at her. I know for Mandalorian, there were a few leaks from different sources about Pedro Pascal cuttin up during filming..not just from her. Series went on, so people took that as she be wrong.
The only thing I can see is Okoye. She's like the only one that's earned it throughout their appearances, and liked well enough...AND respected in the storyline enough. And it makes way more sense than some MCU Shuri...or Killmonger, or M'Baku, or anyone else.
Okoye is supposed to be a main character in a Wakanda series.
this is fukked up to say, but What If should have done an episode called "What if T'Challa died?" and then just considered it a cannonized prequel to this movie. instead they just threw a dart and landed on What if T'Challa was Starlord for some reason? ... one of the better episodes of that shytty show though

I definitely do NOT want Okoye as the Black Panther.
I'm cool with her or Shuri being temporary, as I don't hate women like a lot of ya'll do and think it would be cool, but them keeping the mantle is a no for me. Okoyoe can carry her show just being a Okoye, a perfectly dope and likable character without the mantle.
Future version of T'Challa's son, alternate universe Killmonger, are all fine with me.

Okoye is a better choice than Shuri and M’Baku but her becoming Black Panther would be overkill since she is already leader of the Dora Milaje and she has her own show coming up.

There was an article that indicated the chick who did the voice over for Black Widow on 'What If...' was on the set. Not sure it means anything, but hope Marvel doesn't try to revive Natasha for life action films.

Chadwick did the T'Challa voice on What If . . . ? so he was alive when it was produced. They didn't have time to do a T'Challa death episode.
