right, they've got her and Kaluuya under contract and they were like the 6th and 7th most important characters in the movie. might as well re-write them a little and take advantage of the talent you've got. Shuri has plenty to do already, is built like a stick, and is basically a child. we don't need to see her as BP. Same goes for whatsherface michonne. Great character, kicks a ton of ass, but is already basically an Avenger. leave her be. M'Baku is just a doofus, i don't want him getting the mantle either. I like that character as he is.

If marvel can have multiple smart middle aged white men interacting with each other and everything is fine, I don't know why Riri and Shuri interacting as two intelligent black women would be a problem

What If is the worst show so far IMO with WandaVision being the best one by far.
They have the same personality. MCU Shuri & Riri from comics are exactly the same character. Me and others pointed it out after BP1, that Shuri in such a manner is more like Riri, so maybe she becomes her, instead of them going Shuri BP. Tony & Banner were the minds of MCU, and none of them are exactly the same. Even now with Peter, he was a protege. There's 0 reason to include Riri (Ironheart) in a Black Panther movie as her first appearance...not unless you change her origin.
Like I said, I'm a fan of Ironheart. I was a fan of pre-Coates Shuri, and I liked MCU Shuri. I may only be a cameo, but once again, if that's so, why even include her.
the market dictates this right now. it'll level off. representation is a good thing... but if they keep greenlighting female led movies, it might become overkill.
i mean, it'll be good b/c it's marvel, but we're getting a deaf female hero. were deaf females clamoring for their own hero? they're also getting one in Eternals. ... although i heard that Echo thing is basically a backdoor reboot of Daredevil with the same actors from Netflix, so that's cool.
