All those characters had long arcs and growth. T'Challa really only had his own time to breathe in one film. Hes virtually a non factor in IW and Endgame so its not worth counting those 2. It seems really premature to shelve the character before having his own 3 film arc. He was just now getting settled into his role as King at the end of BP1

you guys need to stop pretending the comics matter. small percentage of MCU loyalists read all the source material, as long as they continue to use the big stories as loose outlines and give the big "nerds" their easter eggs, they're fine. common person doesn't give a fukk about who was a BP in a small comic run or not.
just use Kaluuya. ride the hot hand. open with everyone confronting him for turning on T'Challa, put him in a brief crisis mode, and have him atone for his sins for the first act, let Namor attack or whatever and then have them reluctantly give him the herb and let him become Black Panther.

maybe the Okoye series (unnecessary imo) will drop prior to this and they can beef up W'kabi's path to BP in that so we don't even have to waste scenes in the actual movie

Ya'll are acting like changing the name of dude wearing the black panther is some difficult task that will ruin the movie. Seem to be ignoring the fact that we literally had 3 different black panthers in the first movie.
Then why does it matter that shuri becomes bp? Why not use another character? Especially since shuri Bp and comics bp have little in common?

Shuri becoming BP in the MCU is just a theory at this point. For all we know what they meant by not recasting is that T'challa will just wear a mask all the time and they'll cgi chadwicks face whenever he removes it. or some multiverse shyt will happen due to spiderman and strange, and Chadwick will get replaced by 616 T'challa and suddenly Wesley Snipes is an alternate universe T'challa now. Most of us just think Shuri as BP is a less goofy alternative than recasting with no explanation (or recasting with some super extra over the top explanation.)
I actually think they are postioning Okoye to be the new black panther. Probably what her spinoff series will be about.
it doesn't to me. i'm adimantly against her getting the mantle. i keep saying it, but she has an important role, why take that away? seems counterproductive. i doubt they do it. i'll keep banging the drum that they have 2 academy award actors in that universe who played pretty small roles in the grand scheme (Kaluuya and Nyongo) so why not just make one of them the main character? ... but i think we have enough main character female heroes at the moment
Man, don't even know what to say. NO assets, no picks, and only Kuz is on the roster. Schroeder is a free agent and if he doesn't agree to a sign and trade, there's not much we can do. Probably will have to resign him since we don't have any other choice.
