Also i should point out, that recasting didn't work in this case either. People hated the new actor and cancelled the series after his second season on the show.
According to the director they were at a ratings peak when the show went off the air. Given the option to try and milk the historical account of Spartacus which would have taken the plot all over the place, they decided to go out on top. That wasn't on Liam and lots of people felt like he grew into the role and did great under the circumstances.
Yes, i'm familiar with that series. The show was called Spartacus though, not Gladiator. You can make Black Panther without T'Challa. You can't make Spartacus without Spartacus. They could do like Spartacus did and make a prequel movie starring T'Chaka as Black Panther.
That's akin to tryin to fill the void for a Superman movie with a prequel about Jor-el or some shyt. As cool/interesting as it might be, nobody wants a super dad, super boy, super cousin movie as much as they want the actual character the property is known for and built around.
Like that's the BEST alternative to just recasting I've heard. Everything else is on some, Killmonger byke! or T'challa get's killed off screen or even worse bodied by Doom and Shuri all of a sudden becomes more suited for the position than one of the Dora's.
That sounds like a drag to me.
