it makes sense

Michael B Jordan IMO is a big enough actor, plus his fictional character has more ADOS roots than Chadwichs character

DC wanted this man to be its black superman, i think hes capable of holding down a franchise imo

i think that would be the best route from a movie and real life standpoint. Its his cousin in the MCU so its still in the family and he had the last herb after burning the garden.

T’challa couldve picked him up and put him on ice like winter soldier and wakes up and hears that his point of view was understood so he tries to follow his path.

I truly think it’s the best route. You can bring kilmonger back with all the baggage from the first film but really have to prove himself since he’s been given a second chance to the wakandans. He’d have to live up to T’challa’s legacy and show that he is deserving to be king. Especially having to transition him from originally a villain to hero. This way continuity isn’t drastically changed and you still keep it all in the family. Not to mention people will be interested to see how marvel pulls it off and Michael b Jordan is enough of a draw himself.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Also another question I raised elsewhere: Who catches that body?

Set aside how fukking dumb it is for him to die after coming back to life after 5 years just to die again immediately...assuming he's not gonna fall off a ladder and break his neck, someone is going to have to take him out.

Who's strong enough and has a reason? Namor? Good luck with introducing him only to make him irredeemable. Doom maybe, but I'd hate to see T'challa be the sacrifice to make him threatening enough to be done right.

Easy

his father greater him like he was supposed to have died. T’Challa didn’t follow protocol and said fukk it, I’m not coming here until I make things right. Maybe he was on borrowed time... the whole time since he came back.

maybe once thanos was defeated, he felt it was his time. He accomplished everything.

And why do people keep saying there won’t be another Black Panther? :dahell:

1. the sequel is called Black Panther 2
2. There have literally been 3 different black panthers in the MCU. T’Chaka, T’Challa, and Killmonger. And that’s not including the 7 old black panthers in this scene

Hell, M’Baku could’ve been BP but he turned down the position.

not to mention anybody with royal blood can challenge for the title of King and BP. Not to mention T’Challa even had to win the mantle in combat.

It’s like y’all don’t even remember the damn movie.

Since nobody posting the quotes
Feige’s plan was controversial among the inner circles of Marvel, says the leaker. Coogler, who wrote and directed the first installment in the franchise, argued against recasting. Marvel looked at Shuri taking over the Black Panther role along with M’Baku (Winston Duke) and Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o). They even looked at having two characters be Black Panther. The creatives also talked about doing a prequel at one point. The leaker says later in his comments that Marvel is also contemplating doing a Wakanda/Black Panther prequel series starring Sterling K. Brown and Atandwa Kani, who played N’Jobu and young T’Chaka in the first film.

Marvel wanted to delay Black Panther 2 and ultimately continue with T’Challa, but the studio didn’t want to lose Coogler. Ultimately, Marvel decided to let Coogler turn Shuri or M’Baku into the next Black Panther. Coogler reportedly wanted M’Baku at one point, but he had been pushed for a brand new character from the beginning. Feige agreed, and Coogler has been retooling the script since November for the new character who will become the next Black Panther in the sequel:

The Black Panther mantle will be dawned by an original character created by Coogler. He will be the lead of the film and will be King and Black Panther moving forward. He was described to me as a strong, quiet, powerful but also broken young man with a very unique back story. I was told he was a member of the Miner or River tribe. Apparently a relative of Nakia. Marvel isn’t letting out there plans for this until the last second.

Neither Shuri nor M’Baku will become Black Panther at any point during the film, but they will be the primary supporting characters. Apparently, Okoye (Danai Gurira) and Nakia will have smaller roles as a result. Martin Freeman will return as Agent Ross.

Having a totally new Black Panther is not the only surprise in this leak. The same person said that T’Challa would not die, as we’ve all been expecting. Instead, he’ll be written out of the film, although it’s unclear how that’s supposed to happen. Other Avengers have retired, so it wouldn’t be totally unexpected.

Namor will be the main villain of Black Panther 2, the leaker said, and will be played by Tenoch Huerta. Doctor Doom will be the secondary “smaller” villain. The actor is still negotiating the role, with the leaker saying that fans will love him. Black Panther 2 will essentially be a three-way war between Wakanda, Latveria, and Lemuria. The latter is a stand-in for Atlantis, and it serves as the Deviants’ underwater city in Marvel comics.

Last bit makes me think its not true. No way you bring in Namor AND Doom and then have no T'Challa. Would be crazy as hell.

"So much of the comics and that first movie is the world of Wakanda. Wakanda is a place to further explore with characters and different subcultures. This was always and initially the primary focus of the next story. We’re not going to have a CG Chadwick and we’re not recasting T’Challa. Ryan Coogler is working very hard right now on the script with all the respect and love and genius that he has, which gives us great solace, so it was always about furthering the mythology and the inspiration of Wakanda. There’s also the task of honoring and respecting the ongoing learnings and teachings from Chad as well."

Likely BS from the other thread.

Honestly, I can still see it happening. Especially Wakanda Vs Atlantis (or Lemuria) with Doom being the villain in the shadows pulling the strings. It actually would be a great way to World build Wakanda as a war can go deeper into the lure and show how united yet diverse it truly is.

A war would also be an organic way to build a character (or characters) from lesser known tribes that could elevate from warrior to leader. But for this to work they need a domineering foe (i.e Namor).
