Same people calling for recast
Did the same thing when Blade
Was announced for a reboot
It’s really strange how that works here:patrice:
Feige already said the second half of MCU
Will be heavily female focused on its characters
Why is Shuri taking the mantle
So far fetched and wrong
And don’t bring canon into this
MCU is far from following canon:comeon:
BP died with Chad
Just recasting for the sake ain’t it
Let Letitia rock and build around her
But continue

Shuri taking the matle isn’t wrong it’ll just be far fetched and rushed if they do it in BP2 as Shuri in movie one

1). Showed no signs whatsoever that she wanted to be ruler of Wakanda or The Black Panther.

2). Showed NO fighting prowess. NO leadership skills. And NO decision making acumen. She was an inventor, the “Q” to T’Challa’s “Bond”. Can you
Imagine Letitia Wright’s “Shuri” taking on a challenge from M’Baku? Or even Nakia? Kilmonger kicked her ass in a manner of SECONDS. There would definitely have to be a “bridge” movie to set her up as training, bulking up, and being prepped to rule as T’Challa was by T’Chaka his entire life

The truth of the matter is that T’Challa is Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Bruce Banner, status. He IS his masked alter ego. Batman not being Wayne is a failure. Superman not being Kent is a failure. Recasting isn’t some horrible, terrible, unfathomable act of evil. Its a necessity for the betterment of the character and the franchise. People know what it is. And there are several instances of precedent

yeah it's like the people bringing up the comics excuse have no idea that comic Shuri was completely different
from the jump they made Shuri too different to match the comic counterpart

At this point I think it would be better served to ponder whose on the shortlist for the recast.

I’ve heard great suggestions like John David Washington and Stephen James. I also think casting a relative newcomer has merit IF the long term plan is for Shuri to eventually take the mantle.

Damson Idris, really the only answer to save this franchise:wow:

If breh grows a beard he could be T'Challa. He plays a young character on Snowfall but he's close to 30 in real life.

You beat me to it:myman:

Plus people say fans would get mad,but I don't think people would get upset at this pick because he already comes with a strong cosign from John Singelton, and fans who have seen Snowfall. And if they haven't,they will go watch Snowfall, become fans of that show and be on board with this choice. Also his personality is very relatable and I think would appeal to young people. He would actually push this movie further than Chadwick could as Chadwick didn't have the personality to be all that likeable outside of film. Damson will relate more to the youth and have a stronger female following. Disney is seeing money signs as we speak. Then again Coogler might just stick with who he knows and have Killmonger come back as Black Panther.

Exactly, keep it simple

Losing Chadwick is a tragedy.

But the one positive out of this and the best thing it can lead to the elevation or creation of a new young black star.

Imagine Buddy from Snowfall pulling a Bruce Willis going from TV star to big time Hollywood actor?

Let another black man have the opportunity to walk through these doors

This is the underrated aspect of BP, it is/was black Hollywood royalty on display like a motherfukker. If someone can pull it off, allow another young black actor to be elevated in this moment to honor Chadwick's vision of what it all meant for everybody, especially black people.

Shuri is Riri Williams to the point where actually doing an Iron Heart series in the MCU (which is the plan) is gonna feel a bit redundant. Given her character in the movies and even shyt like the Wakanda files, she seems more likely to pick up Tony's mantle in the MCU than T'challa's.

Recast. Next man up.

Christopher Reeve will always be Superman... but that doesn't mean he has to be the only Superman.

The characters are meant to inspire the youth. T'Challa is only getting started.

Fukk having to wait another 15+ years for a "reboot".

Plus if chadwick didnt disclose his illness you cant be mad at them for doing what they have to do. Im just glad Chadwick got that last big payday. Not that he was struggling before, but a Disney check should set his family up for a long time to come.

:mjlol:No chance. Lol Killmonger's DEAD we literally watched him get stabbed to death. He didnt fall of of a cliff or disappear in an explosion. We watched his vital organs get skewered by a top 3 deadliest warrior in existence, he aint coming back. TChalla already ate the last herb. Its over.

Besides, Killmonger was the worst ruler in the history of Wakanda. He was a maniac twisted by a lifetime of hate and vengeance... They not just gonna have him wake up and be like 'oh nah I was buggin'

I agree with all of this but except, don't kill off T'Challa just because the actor who plays him passed away. It's not in the comics.

Pass the mantle over to lady black Panther and maybe cameo black panther in future movies with fantastic 4.

Would make sense to make the next film more Wakandan focused rather than on black Panther.

I agree that Ironheart technically should be reserved for that role if they're doing that but that probably won't be for another 10-15 years if Covid isn't extinction.

Breh, these people at Disney get paid a lot of money to "figure it out" lol. If Disney doesn't think the box office will be as big with anybody else, they will 100% go back to Michael B Jordan, mark my words:wow:. They could easily make it to where Killmonger was faking dead, but ends up killing Tchalla while he's holding him. Killmonger was the one who had them destroy the herbs, how do you know he didn't save one for himself:jbhmm:? You are right about him being a maniac though lol,but fukk it then. Take a page out of Lion King and just show us what Pride Rock(Wakanda) looked like while Scar(Killmonger) was in charge. It would be very different, and maybe he would just end up fighting Avengers who are attempting to free the Wakandans from his control. I think you would still keep elements of the Black Panther character who didn't always cooperate with the Avengers, and was pretty stern on locking Wakanda away from outsiders. He simply reverses all that humanitarian shyt Tchalla was on and he is still in a sense the Black Panther. And to top it off if you make it clear he is the villian, you would set it up better for people to root for Shuri to eventually figure out a plan to take over the mantle and take the crown back and get revenge for Tchalla, you could even bring in Storm as a wife if you need more box office:blessed:
